제18화 적과 청의 결전

흰 칼날과 흉조가 맞부딪쳤습니다. 어지럽게 뒤엉키는 적색과 청색. 전투의 포문이 열린 것입니다.

『뭐야, 움직임이 꽤 좋아졌네？』 놀랍게도 푸른 기사의 움직임은 진홍의 악마 인형 《컬래머티》를 조금이지만 앞서고 있었습니다.

『산산조각으로 박살내줬는데 하루 만에 원래대로 되돌려 놓다니. 영감이 꽤 좋은 제자를 얻었는걸.』

『너, 스승님을 알아？』

『옛날에 잠깐 알던 사이지.』 컬래머티는 날개를 퍼덕이며 천천히 하늘로 날아올랐습니다.

『자, 이건 어떨까？』 그리고는 포효를 지르며 급강하했습니다. 페드로는 실을 뒤로 당겼습니다. 머리 위에서 습격하는 날카롭고 커다란 손톱을 푸른 기사는 뒷걸음질치며 피했습니다.

『그래？ 그럼 이건？』 컬래머티는 물이 흐르는 듯한 움직임으로 굵은 꼬리를 옆으로 휘둘렀습니다. 페드로는 실을 좌우로 늘어트렸습니다. 허리를 낮춘 푸른 기사는 검을 옆으로 쥐고 기세 좋은 꼬리를 위에서부터 베어버렸습니다.

『쳇, 이것도 당해내는지 보자！』 컬래머티는 뿔이 돋은 머리를 휘두르며 푸른 기사의 머리를 향해 돌격했습니다. 페드로는 실을 왼쪽 위로 튕겼어요. 뒤쪽으로 몸을 비튼 푸른 기사는 번개처럼 빠르게 검을 휘둘렀습니다.

서걱 하는 소리와 함께 새빨간 날개 오른쪽이 뚝 떨어졌습니다.

Chapter 18 - The Duel Between Red and Blue

White blade met deadly claw. Blue and red twisted about in blinding fashion. The cover to the fight had been cleaved off.

'Ohhhh, you're moving better,' Harlequin exclaimed.

Surprisingly, the Blue Knight's movements were just a little bit faster than that of the crimson devil puppet, Calamity.

'I broke it aaall to pieces, too, but to fix it back up in just one day... Looks like the old man found himself a good apprentice.'

'You know my master?'

Harlequin twirled his fingers and Calamity fluttered its wings and slowly lifted into the sky.

'We have a bit of a history, yes.' He giggled. 'But forget about that. What'll you do about THIS?!'

As he howled these words, the red puppet swooped down. Pedro pulled his strings back and the Blue Knight narrowly avoided the grasping claws.

'Or this?'

Smooth as flowing water, Calamity sent out its log-like tail to swipe at the knight.

Pedro's threads flowed down and to the right. Dropping its center of gravity, the Blue Knight shifted its sword to a slant and redirected the force of the tail upwards.

'OR THIS?!'

Calamity swung its horned head around and charged straight for the Blue Knight's torso.

Pedro snapped his threads upwards and to his left this time. The Blue Knight, who had let itself fall slightly back, now slashed its sword down in a blur of light.

With a small, pleasant cracking sound, the crimson wing on the right side of the puppet was hewn straight off.

第１８話　赤と青の決戦

交わりあう白刃と凶爪。 めまぐるしく入れ替わる赤と青。 闘いの火蓋が切って落とされました。

『へえ、動きが良くなったね？』 驚いたことに、蒼騎士の動きは 紅い悪魔人形《カラミティ》を ほんの少し上回っているようでした。

『バラバラに壊してやったのに１日で元どおりにするなんてね。爺さんも、いい弟子をとったじゃない』

『あんた、師匠の知り合いなのか？』 『昔、ちょっとした因縁があってね』 カラミティは、翼をはためかせて ゆっくりと上空に浮かび上がりました。

『さーて、こいつはどうかな？』 一声吠えて、急降下しました。 ペドロは糸を後ろに引きました。 頭上から迫った、鋭く大きな爪を 蒼騎士はバックステップで躱しました。

『じゃあ、これはどう？』 カラミティは、流れるような動きで 丸太のような尻尾を横殴りに放ちます。 ペドロは糸を右下に流しました。 腰を落とした蒼騎士は、剣を斜めに構えて 尻尾の勢いを、上方へ削ぎ落としました。

『なら、これはどうだいっ！？』 カラミティは、角の生えた頭を振りかぶり 蒼騎士の胴体めがけて突き上げました。 ペドロは糸を左上に弾きました。 ななめ後ろに身体をさばいた蒼騎士は 紫電の迅さで、剣を振り下ろしました。

ざくりと小気味よい響きとともに 真紅の翼の右側が、斬り落されました。
