『《오리올》의 봉인에 대해（１／４）』

지하시설의 완성이 코앞이었을 때, 무의식중에 우리는 《오리올》에게 『봉인 계획』의 존재를 알리고 말았다. 동포 중 한 명이 《오리올》의 달콤한 유혹에 넘어가 정신을 개입시켜버린 것이 그 원인이었다.

그러나 그 동포가 계획의 전모를 아는 입장이 아니었던 것은 불행 중 다행이었다. 《오리올》의 눈은 《아넨베르크》와 《디바이스 타워》에 향하지 않고 호수에 있는 지하시설만 포착했다.

[About the Aureole's Seal 1/4]

When we were closing in on completing the underground facility, unbeknownst to us, our seal plan was discovered by the Aureole. One of our comrades fell victim to the sweet seduction of the Aureole's euphoric simulations, and he was lost to us.

However, the silver lining in this disaster was that this comrade was not aware of the full scale of the plan. With the information it gleaned from his mind, the Aureole focused entirely on the underground facility by the lakeside, and it paid no attention to the Ahnenburg or the device towers.

地下施設の完成があとわずかに迫った頃、不覚にも我々は、《環》に『封印計画』の存在を知られることとなる。　同胞の１人が《環》の甘い誘惑に落ち、その精神に介入されたことが原因であった。

しかし、その同胞が計画の全容を知る立場になかったことは不幸中の幸いであった。　《環》の目は、《アーネンベルク》と《デバイスタワー》に向かうことは無く、湖岸にある地下施設のみを捉えたのだ。

우리의 계획을 안 《오리올》이 취한 수단은 강행적이었다. 《오리올》은 자신의 수호자로서 《트로이메라이》라는 존재를 몇 개체 생성하고는 우리에게 그것을 보낸 것이었다.

――그러나 시설이 지하에 건축된 게 다행이었다. 지상과 시설을 잇는 경로는 하나. 《트로이메라이》의 공격이 지하 500에이쥬까지 닿는 일은 없었다.

하지만 《트로이메라이》의 공격은 밤낮을 불문하고 집요하게 이어졌다. 그런 와중에 우리의 견고한 방위벽에도 한계가 닥쳤다.

The Aureole, having learned of our plan, took to force. The Aureole manifested Reveries as its defenders, and set them upon us in the facility.

However, we were saved by our decision to build the facility underground. Just one single channel connected the facility to the surface. The Reveries' attacks could not reach down 500 arge beneath the surface.

The attacks by the Reveries went on and on, day and night without pause. Eventually our defensive line began to reach its limits.

我々の計画を知った《環》が取った手段は強行的なものだった。　《環》は自らの守護者として《トロイメライ》という存在を幾体か生み出すと、施設にいる我々の下へそれを差し向けたのだ。

――しかし、施設が地下に建造されていたことが幸いであった。　地上と施設とをつなぐ経路はわずかに１本。《トロイメライ》の攻撃が地下５００アージュまで届くことはなかったのだ。

だが、《トロイメライ》の攻撃は昼夜を問わず執拗に続く。その内に我々の堅固な防衛線にも限界が迫った。

『《오리올》의 봉인에 대해（３／４）』

《트로이메라이》의 공격을 받던 중, 시설은 마침내 완성됐으나 칠요맥에서 계획에 필요한 에너지를 확보하기에는 아직 시간이 더 필요했다. 그러나 시설이 완성돼서 방심했던 탓일까, 우리는 《트로이메라이》 한 기체를 시설 내부로 들이고 말았다.

한번 내부로 침입당하자 그 침략을 막는 것은 쉽지 않았다. 《트로이메라이》가 단숨에 최심부로 온 것이었다. ――정말로 절박했다. 최심부로 들어온 《트로이메라이》가 시설을 파괴하려는 찰나, 마침내 필요한 에너지가 모여 우리는 즉시 《제１결계》를 발동시킬 수 있었다.

While under attack by the Reveries we were able to finish the facility, but it took time to secure the necessary energy. During the process, it seems we got careless, and a single Reverie broke into the facility proper.

Once inside, stopping it was difficult. The Reverie reached the deepest sections in an instant. We were just a hair's breadth from total disaster when the full power for the sealing operation was finally gathered. Just as the Reverie set upon us, we activated the first barrier.

《トロイメライ》の攻撃を受ける中、施設はついに完成に至るが、七耀脈から計画に必要なエネルギーを確保するにはまだ時間がかかった。　だが、施設が完成したことで油断を覚えてしまったのか――我々は《トロイメライ》の１体に施設内部への進入を許してしまう。

一度内部に進入されると、その侵攻を止めるのは容易ではなかった。《トロイメライ》はあっという間に最深部へとやってきたのだ。　――まさに間一髪であった。最深部に来た《トロイメライ》が破壊活動に及ばんとしたその時、必要分のエネルギーはついに集まり、我々はすぐさま《第一結界》を起動させたのだ。

『《오리올》의 봉인에 대해（４／４）』

시설에서 방출된 빛이 《아넨베르크》의 내벽을 사이에 두고 증폭되어 공중에 떠 있는 《오리올》을 붙잡았다. 그러자 《오리올》은 우리 앞에서 자취를 감추고, 《트로이메라이》도 움직임을 멈췄다. 이렇게 《제１결계》는 무사히 발동됐다.

《오리올》은 《세프테리온》 중에서 공간을 다스리는 지보다. 『공간 절대 지배』라는 힘을 지닌 《오리올》을 무력화하기 위해 필요한 것―― 그것은 《오리올》에 의한 공간의 간섭, 더 나아가 시간과의 간섭을 일절 끊는 것이었다. 우리가 고심 끝에 만든 『봉인 기구』는 《오리올》을 도시째 다른 차원으로 보내어, 『시간동결』에 성공한 셈이었다.

[About the Aureole's Seal (4/4)]

The light fired from the facility, reflected off the inner wall of the Ahnenburg, caught the Aureole floating in the sky. In that moment, the Aureole disappeared from us, and the Reveries stopped entirely. Through this, we knew that the first barrier was successful.

The Aureole is, of the Sept-Terrions, the treasure governing the power of space. What was needed to nullify the Aureole, which held absolute dominion over space itself, was to utterly sever its connections to space, and indeed even to time itself. The Seal Mechanism, born of our hard work, had sent the Aureole, along with the entire city, into another dimension, and successfully temporally froze it.

施設より放たれた光が、《アーネンベルク》の内壁を介して増幅され、空に浮かぶ《環》を捉える。　すると、《環》は我々の前から、その姿を消し、《トロイメライ》も動きを止めた。こうして《第一結界》は無事その発動が確認されたのだ。

《環》は《七の至宝》の内、空間を司る至宝である。空間の絶対支配という力を持った《環》を無力化するために必要とされること――それは《環》による空間への干渉、更には時間への干渉を一切絶つということであった。　我々が苦心して生み出した『封印機構』は《環》を都市ごと異次元へと送り込み、『時間凍結』させることに成功したのである。
