자치주 서부의 녹스 삼림 지대에서 경비대가 공개 훈련을 실시했다. 본지 기자도 참가하여 확인한 그 모습을 전하겠다.
오전 １０시부터 시작한 훈련은 상당한 박력. 주행 사격 훈련, 스턴 핼버드를 이용한 백병전 등이 펼쳐졌다. 담당 상사는 「이런 훈련은 정기적으로 하고 있다. 숙련도에는 자신이 있다」라고 했다.
◆소문의 신 장비는……？◆
공개 훈련 후, 취재할 기회가 생겨 작년부터 소문이 돌던 경비대의 신형 장갑차에 대해 소냐 부사령관에게 물어보았다.
부사령관은 신형 장갑차의 실전 배치는 나중이라 했다. 현재는 장비 조정에 시간을 들이고 있어 조정이 끝나면 배치될 듯하다. 또한, 전차 수준의 화력을 갖춰, 외교적 문제가 걱정되던 건도 「조정 완료」. 인접국에는 정확한 성능과 배치될 수량에 대한 정보를 제공하기로 했다고 한다.
어려운 질문에도 정확하게 답해준 부사령관. 마지막으로 「크로스벨 경비대는 주변 지역의 안정을 위해 노력을 게을리하지 않겠다」라고 했다.
【사회】 구시가지의 “항쟁” 일단락
구시가지에서 항쟁을 이어 온 불량 소년 그룹의 대립이 일단락되었다. 연일 울려 퍼지던 노성도 뚝 끊겼다. 부근 주민이 안도의 한숨을 쉬는 한편 「불량배들이 존재하는 한 항쟁은 계속 된다. 무슨 수를 써주길 바란다」(동쪽 거리에 사는 ２４세 남성) 등의 의견도 있다.
◆수수께끼를 남긴 사건 경위◆
대립하는 소년 그룹
동료가 습격 당했다는 이유로 발전한 이번 항쟁. 그러나 전면 충돌 직전에 종결되는 등의 이상한 점이 많다. 항쟁 종결에는 경찰 특무지원과가 공헌했다는 정보가 있으나 우연히 도왔다는 의견도 있다. 다음에는 유격사 수준의 활약을 기대해보고 싶다.
【기술】 신형 전술 오브먼트 출현
엡스타인 재단이 개발 중인 전술 오브먼트의 신형이 등장. 드디어 제５세대로 돌입하게 됐다.
통칭 『ＥＮＩＧＭＡ』라 불리는 이 단말기의 최대 특징은 「도력 통신 회로를 탑재한 것입니다」(재단의 로버츠 씨). 신개발한 초소형 결정회로로 도력파를 증폭해 휴대 가능한 소형 통신 장치를 실현했다. 장소에 구애받지 않고 순식간에 정보를 주고받는 에니그마는 통신 기술의 이노베이션이라고 그는 강조했다.
현재 통신 기능은 전용 도력파 중계 터미널이 설치된 지역(자치주)만 이용할 수 있는데 유격사와 행정 기관을 중심으로 도입이 진행될 듯하다.

◆CGF Shows Its Might◆
CGF Driving Exercises
Knox Forest, due west of Crossbell City, was the site of the CGF's recent training drills. We were on the scene to report:
Drills began at 10AM and were very intense. They practiced vehicular combat, stun halberd combat, hand-to-hand combat, and more. 'Exercises like these are held regularly to sustain these important skills,' stated the leading sergeant major.
◆New Equipment Rumored?◆
We had the opportunity to interview Deputy Commander Baelz after the drills. We asked about the new model of armored vehicle that has been rumored to be in development since last year.
The deputy commander tells us that the implementation of these new models is still a ways off. Presently, they are in the fine-tuning stage, and will be deployed once complete. Logistical issues such as negotiation with the neighboring powers about specifications has been thoroughly taken care of.' As it stands, the new models' firepower is comparable to an average tank. Accurate data and deployment numbers will be properly disclosed at a later time.
'The CGF will continue putting its full efforts towards ensuring the security of Crossbell's borders and the state at large,' commented the deputy commander, faithfully answering every difficult question posed to her.

Sources say the downtown gangs have temporarily ceased fighting. The noisy confrontations, previously a daily occurrence, have come to a sudden stop. Most citizens breathe sighs of relief. On the contrary, a 24-year-old man living on East Street voiced his fears, 'As long as delinquents are there, the fights will return! I wish someone would do something about them.'

Gangs face off
Tensions rose due to a surprise attack on the gangs' members. However, many things are yet unexplained about the dispute. Before it escalated, rumor has it that the CPD's Special Support Section had a hand in resolving the situation. However, further investigation suggests that they may have been more lucky than skilled. It would be nice to see action on the same level as bracers next time.
[Technology] A New Battle Orbment
The Epstein Foundation has developed a new battle orbment, and it is now available on the market. We finally enter the fifth generation. 'The best part of the Enigma is the introduction of the orbal communication circuit,' said Mr. Roberts of the foundation. This newly-developed micro-quartz allowed for the creation of a small portable communication device.
