【경제】 제국 북서부 지역, 계엄령 영향은 미미해

『국가총동원법』 통과 후 1주일── 그동안 제국 전역에 계엄령이 선포된 상황이었으나, 북서부에 위치한 노던브리아주 및 줄라이 경제특구에서는 그 영향이 미미했던 듯하다. 전자는 제국에 귀속된 지 1년도 되지 않은 데다, 6월에는 주도 할리아스크 근교에서 사건이 발생해, 주민들의 불안한 감정을 부추기지 않도록 시행 내용에 배려가 있었던 것으로 보인다.

한편 후자는, 경제적 영향에 대해 관계자들에게 묻자 40％ 이상이 「미미하다」고 응답하였다. 10년에 걸친 눈부신 발전이 열쇠가 되어 특구로서의 성장을 느끼게 한다. 「인원 부족 등의 과제는 지속되겠지만 상황을 잘 파악하며 제국 경제의 윤활유가 될 수 있기를」 （줄라이의 고관 A 하이암스 씨）

【군사】 제1기갑사단, 완충 지대에서 훈련

서덜랜트주 남부에 위치하여 리벨 왕국과의 국경에 자리한 타이터스 문. 그곳에 주둔 중인 제1기갑사단이 완충 지대에서 훈련을 시작했다. 군 홍보부의 정식 발표는 없었으나, 반다이크 원수의 뜻에 따라 참모 본부가 결정한 사항인 듯하다.

본지의 젊은 기자의 취재에 의하면 현지 경비병들의 협력을 통해 대대적으로 진행되고 있으며, 열차포와 기갑병도 수시로 배치될 예정. 향후 동향에 주목하고자 한다.

【국제】 리벨 왕국으로부터 친서 도착

얼마 전 제국 황실에 한 통의 친서가 도착했다. 보낸 이는 리벨의 알리시아 여왕 폐하와 클로디아 왕태녀 전하. 제국에서 기증한 장미의 사례에 관한 내용이었다.

양국 간의 완충 지대 사용에 따른 사죄의 의미로 장미를 보낸 것이 며칠 전. 그 자리에는 드레스덴 남작가의 적녀가 입회했다고 한다.

친서에는 아직 공식적으로 모습을 보이지 않고 계신 프리실라 황비 전하와 알핀 황녀 전하를 배려하는 문구가 포함되어 있어 황족과 왕족의 깊은 유대감을 느낄 수 있었다. 군 홍보부는 「이건 양국의 관계가 흔들리지 않는다는 증거이자 후세까지 연면히 이어질 유대가 틀림없다」고 열변했다.

【칼럼】 얼스터의 명주, 증산

어른들의 술이라 하면 브랜디. 국산 브랜디 중 유명한 것으로는…… 그렇다, 『스타인 로제』다. 이 명주를 제조하고 있는 증류소 중 하나가 라마르주 서부에 위치한 얼스터라는 오래된 마을에 있다.

그곳에 얼마 전 군의 명주 증산 지시가 떨어졌다. 제국 서부에 신설된 증류 공장과 병행해 신병이 된 민간인과 밤낮으로 훈련과 업무에 쫓기는 장교들을 위해 만들어지는 것 같다.

이번 호부터 비정기 연재 기획으로서 새 코너가 시작된다. 소재는 “일하는 여성들”. 서민 사회에 초점을 맞춘 특집으로 진행하고자 한다.

기념비적인 제1회는 비취의 공도 바레아하트에서 양장점을 운영하는 콜레트 씨. 지난 봄 토르즈 사관학교를 졸업한 그녀는 팬시 브랜드 《큐티 콜레트》를 설립, 공도의 장인 거리에 가게를 열어 10대 여성을 중심으로 인기를 모으고 있다. 「이전에 이곳 분들께는 많은 신세를 져서…… 가게를 낸다면 이곳에 내겠다고 결심했었지요. 지금은 공작 대행께서도 부재중이시고 하니, 조금이라도 여러분의 불안감을 완화시켜 드리고 싶습니다」

그렇게 말하고 민가를 돌아다니며 어려운 일에 도움을 주는 콜레트 씨. 그녀의 발랄한 미소에 주민들의 표정도 자연스레 밝아진 것 같다.

[Economy] Martial Law Not Yet Gripping the Northwest
The National Mobilization Law has been in effect for only a week, but martial law was enacted quite some time ago. However, it seems to have had little effect in North Ambria and the Jurai SEZ. The former was annexed less than a year ago, and because the June incident in Haliask was hugely disruptive, it is believed that the government carefully decided how to enforce regulations so as to not fan the flames of local unrest. Our survey shows that over 40% of Jurai residents do not consider martial law to have affected the local economy, which has been rapidly growing over the last decade.
Lord Hyarms of Jurai admits that the region suffers from a lack of skilled workers, but nevertheless is hopeful to contribute to the Empire's economy.

[Military Affairs] The 1st A.D. in the Neutral Zone
The 1st Armored Division, stationed at Titus Gate in southern Sutherland on the border with Liberl, was observed performing maneuvers within the neutral zone, despite no official announcement from the Imperial Army press office. One of our reporters on the scene confirmed via interview that the 1st is cooperating with local security forces on this large-scale operation, which will utilize railway cannons and Panzer Soldats. The General Staff Office at the head of this operation appear to be acting at Supreme Commander 반다이크's behest.

[International] Correspondence from Liberl
Yesterday, the Imperial family received a letter from Queen Alica and Princess Klaudia of Liberl, expressing gratitude for a bouquet of roses and acknowledgement of an apology (for military actions in the neutral zone) sent by the Empire.
Delivery of the bouquet itself was overseen by 마르가리타 드레스덴, daughter of Baron Dresden.
The queen and princess also offered their well-wishes for Empress Priscilla and Princess Alfin, who have recently abstained from making public appearances, in a profound show of respect between the women of the Royal and Imperial families. The Imperial Army press office expresses their unshakable belief that this letter stands as proof of the bond between our two countries, and that these good relations are sure to endure for ages to come.

[Column] Alster Brewery to Increase Production
Brandy is the liqueur of choice among discerning Erebonians, with Steinrose being our most famous national brand. A distillery of this fine beverage in the old town of Alster in western Lamare has been instructed by the government to ramp up its production.
This news is certain to be met with enthusiasm by the influx of new army recruits, as well as officers seeking to relax after drafting and overseeing drills day in and day out.

This time, we focus on the success story of 콜레트, who opened an apparel store in Bareahard, the Verdant City. 콜레트, a graduate of Thors Military Academy, has created her own luxury brand called Cutie-콜레트, sold directly from her store on Artisans' Street. The brand is quickly gaining popularity among teenage girls. 'The people of this neighborhood have always been good to me, so I wanted to pay that forward by opening my own store right here. If I can ease people's anxiety even just a little in light of the acting lord being away, then I'd say my foray into fashion was woth the effort,' commented 콜레트 with an infectiously cheery smile. No doubt the locals find their own lives a little sunnier in this cheerful gal's orbit.

【経済】帝国北西部地域、戒厳令の影響は僅か
『国家総動員法』が成立して早１週間──それ以前には帝国
全土に戒厳令が敷かれる状況だったが、北西部に位置するノー
ザンブリア州並びにジュライ経済特区では、その影響は僅かだ
ったようだ。前者は帝国に帰属して１年足らずな上、６月には
州都ハリアスク近郊で事件が発生したばかりで、住民らの不安
感情を煽らないよう、施行内容に配慮がなされたと思われる。

一方後者においては、経済的影響について関係者に問うと４
割以上が「僅か」と回答。１０年に渡る目覚ましい発展が鍵と
なり、特区としての成長を感じさせられる結果に。「人員不足
などの課題は続くだろうが、よく状況を見極めつつ帝国経済の

【軍事】第一機甲師団、緩衝地帯にて演習
サザーラント州南部に位置し、リベール王国との国境に面す
るタイタス門。そこに駐屯中の第一機甲師団が、緩衝地帯にお
いて演習を始めている。軍広報部からの正式な発表はないもの
の、ヴァンダイク元帥の意向を受け参謀本部が決定したようだ。
本誌の若手記者の取材によれば、現地の警備兵の協力も得て
大がかりな内容となっており、列車砲や機甲兵も随時配備され
る予定。今後の動向に注目したい。

【国際】リベール王国より親書届く
先日、帝国皇室へ宛てて１通の親書が届けられた。送り主は
リベールのアリシア女王陛下とクローディア王太女殿下の連名。
帝国より寄贈した薔薇の謝礼についてだった。
両国間の緩衝地帯を使用するにあたり、お詫びとして贈った
のが数日前。発送の見届けには、ドレスデン男爵家の嫡女が立
ち会ったという。

親書には、未だ公にお姿を見せていないプリシラ皇妃殿下と
アルフィン皇女殿下を気遣う文言が含まれており、女性皇族と
王族の深い繋がりを感じさせられる。軍広報部は「これぞ両国
の関係が揺るぎないものの証であり、後世まで連綿と続くであ
ろう絆に相違ない」と熱く語った。

【コラム】アルスターの銘酒、増産
大人が嗜むお酒といえば、ブランデー。国産で有名なものと
いえば……そう『スタインローゼ』だ。その銘柄を製造してい
る蒸留所の１つが、ラマール州中西部に位置するアルスターと
いう旧い町にある。
そこへ先日、銘酒増産の指示が軍より下った。帝国西部に新
設された蒸留工場と並行して、新兵となった民間人や、日夜訓
練や業務に追われる将校たちへの慰安用に造られるようだ。

【コラム】ワーキングレディの履歴書第１回
今号より、不定期連載企画として新コーナーが始まる。取り
上げるのは“働く女性たち”。ここでは市井(しせい)にスポットを当て
て特集してみたい。

記念すべき第１回は、翡翠の公都バリアハートで服飾店を営
むコレットさん。昨春にトールズ士官学院を卒業した彼女は、
ファンシーブランド《キューティー・コレット》を立ち上げ、
公都の職人通りに店を開いたばかり。１０代の女性を中心に既
に人気を集めている。「前に、ここの通りの皆さんにはすごく
お世話になって……お店を出すならこの場所にしようって決め
てました。今は公爵代行も不在ですし、少しでも皆さんの不安
が和らげばと」
そう語り、民家を周りながら困り事の手助けをするコレット
さん。彼女のはつらつとした笑顔に、住民の表情も自然と明る
くなったようだ。
