뮐러 반다르 (Mueller Vander, ミュラー・ヴァンダール) is a Major in the Imperial Army of Erebonia, assigned to its 7th Armored Division. He is also the childhood friend and constant companion of (and babysitter to) Imperial Prince 올리발트 라이제 아르노르.
Profile
Appearance
Mueller is a tall young man with short brown hair and green eyes. He wears the standard officers' uniform of the Imperial army,mostly purple with black stripes a d a gold trim, padded purple trousers, boots and a white cape with golden tassels.
Mueller is armed with a large great sword with an ornate golden cross in the centre of the blade. The hilt and cross guard feature exaggerated golden guards which extend to cover the hand on both sides. The blade itself is black with silver edges.
Personality
Mueller is a steadfast and loyal soldier who strives to do his best for his country. As a Vander, he holds great pride in his swordsmanship and his family history.
However, his relationship with Prince 올리발트 라이제 아르노르 is a little bit complicated. While they are good friends, Mueller gets constantly irritated and exasperated by Olivert's flirtatious jokes, pranks, immature disappearing habits and having to constantly help him get him out of trouble. Despite this, he does realize that some of the stuff that Olivert does is for the good of their nation and their international relationships.
Background
As a child of the 반다르 가문, Mueller was trained by his parents in the family's trademark greatsword techniques. In accordance with the Vander's tradition of protecting the imperial family, Vander is assigned to protect Olivert. Mueller helped his younger brother Kurt train in the school's twin blade techniques.

Mueller spends most of S.1202 in Liberl, acting as an attaché to the ambassador and covertly supporting Olivier while also trying, mostly unsuccessfully, to restrain his antics. He is first encountered in Grancel.

Mueller make his reappearance at the Erebonian Embassy during the 'Tea Party Incident', lambasting Olivert for not letting him know where he is at all times. Major Vander then thanks Estelle and apologizes for the trouble that Olivier gives her. Estelle laughs and says that Olivier hasn't been too bad and was actually well-mannered. Mueller then asks about their business in the embassy and Estelle and co. tell him about the threatening letter. He helps Estelle and co. meet with Ambassador 다빌 크레노흐 and they discuss the origins of the letter.He then bids the group adieu and wishes them luck with the investigation after another verbal conflict with Olivier.
Mueller is mentioned again after the investigation is over, being invited to the party that Estelle and co. were throwing at Olivier's behest. He is still mentioned being at the bar later on trying to drag Olivier back to the Embassy.
During the 'Finding Renne' arc, Mueller is seen yet again heading off to Bose to reclaim the Capuas' airship, "The Bobcat" with Olivier seeing him off. In the Nebel Valley, Mueller is inspecting the Bobcat, Mueller notes that the ship is in perfect condition and he discusses the origins, armament and usefulness of the ship, bringing up the history of the Capua Family. Suddenly, Dorothy walks up with a guard in tow, outmanoeuvring him as she tries to take pictures. Mueller asks who she is and the two introduce themselves.
Later inside one of the rooms, Joshua spies on Mueller,Dorothy and a solider dining. Afterwards, Mueller is then informed of intruders and arrives to find the Capuas and Joshua near the Bobcat. Mueller declares the perfectness of this moment because it means that he can arrest the Capuas and Joshua at the same time. Mueller states that he doesn't really care if they take the ship, but he can't let them pass as long as he is present. Mueller then pulls out his sword and properly introduces himself. After an initial scuffle, Mueller then addresses Joshua as the "Lost Child of Hamel". Joshua asks him how he knows of his past, prompting Mueller to state that the "idiot's" [Olivier] guess can be right sometimes. Joshua generates intense bloodlust in response, causing Mueller to generate his own fighting spirit. Before the two could clash once more, Don and Kyle have repaired the Bobcat. Mueller only watches as the four flee, upon which he walks downstairs and wonders who really won the fight, before concluding that he'll help Olivier out.
Mueller accompanies Prince Olivert after the 3rd Division arrives with a unit of combustion fuels tanks in response to the Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon and the Appearance of the Liber Ark. Mueller accompanies the party in the mission to board it and resolve the situation.

Mueller is part of Olivert's plan to resist the Blood and Iron Chancellor, 길리아스 오스본, accompanying the prince. In another moment, it is revealed he met up with Julia on her designated day off and he shared his advice on how to unwind and make the most of it. The two end up sparring to pass the time.
Mueller is one of the individuals pulled into Phantasma when the Recluse Cube is activated. He is freed from a crystal early on in 케빈 그라함 and 리스 아르젠트's exploration of the new dimension, and assists the party in finding a way out.
영웅전설 벽의 궤적
In S.1204, Mueller travels to Crossbell as Olivier's escort for the West Zemuria Trade Conference and is once again forced to restrain his companion's more extreme behavior. The SSS stumble across him in the station, where he is disguised as Olivier's 'agent'. The SSS help him track down the wayward Olivier. He fights alongside 율리아 슈바르츠 once again when the terrorist attack on the conference takes place.

Mueller is aware of Olivier's plans for Class VII and is a strong supporter of the Winds of Freedom. He participates in the battle outside the Infernal Castle alongside 나이트하르트, his old time rival and friend.
영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III and IV
After 길리아스 오스본 revoked the Vander family of their privilege to protect the royal family by claiming that their protection should not be "monopolized by one family", Kurt decided to withdraw from Thors Military Academy so he wouldn't see 세드릭 라이제 아르노르, the crown prince, who he initially felt obliged to protect like how Mueller did for Olivert. Mueller convinced him to enroll in the branch campus.
Mueller is often occupied by his duties in the 7th division, which meant he was not present with Olivert when the Courageous was destroyed.
When the Courageous II makes its debut, Mueller takes the helm, expertly outmaneuvering the society's airships. He reveals his division was disbanded due to its ties with the prince, however this was a blessing in disguise as it allowed him to assist the prince more readily. Mueller thanks Rean for looking after his younger brother in his absence.
Mueller, alongside his uncle, 젝스 반다르 and 오리에 반다르, come to the aid of Rean and the party in the fight against 맥번 and cursed 빅터 S. 알제이드. The trio hold off the Leviathan unit before 맥번 ultimately destroys it. Following the battle, the trio depart to the Eastern side of the empire to search for 마테우스 반다르.
In the brief respite at Mishelam before the start of the Great War, Mueller has made plans to take control of the helm in the operation to assault the Tuatha De Danann, where he will primarily focus on air defences. Olivert and Mueller proclaim their 20-year-friendship in front of the Ferris wheel.

Mueller helps Olivert prepare for his wedding day, warning his uncle that Olivert shouldn't be listened to to in any serious capacity. Mueller warns Olivert that he should be part of the discussions for where the Honeymoon villa is to be located. The Vander family have been reinstated as guards for the Imperial family. Mueller is none to pleased to hear confirmations of the late night drinking sessions Olivert had with Schera and Aina in Liberl, but soon the situation becomes serious when it turns out 블블랑 has pulled off another impossible theft- the wedding dress had been taken. Mueller organises a search of the Palace grounds.
Mueller assists Rean's group in investigating the events in the Nord Highlands , where the prince and his bride are seemingly located. After meeting some aggrieved soldiers who call Rean a traitor for supporting an end to the war, Mueller consoles Rean and says he understands the internal conflict between wanting peace and patriotism. Mueller decides to head to the watchtower, and laments how Olivier refused to take him with on the honeymoon due to the prince wanting him to take a 'post-war vacation'. A solider tells the party that Mueller then headed off from the watchtower after finding something of concern and checking in on the situation.
Mueller rejoins the party later with G. Schmidt and 오렐리아 르귄, where he apologises for not contacting them earlier and shares his suspicions about the 23rd Division. He heads to the Zender gate to talk with Colonel Dalton but reports that no one is there. When Class VII and the Courageous II start to be bombarded by automated tanks, Mueller and Aurelia use their Soldats to hold them off whilst the ship makes its escape. The pair retreat in Aurelia's private airship the Balclutha after the Courageous is clear.
taking the helm of the Courageous II once again, Mueller steers the ship in their efforts to bring the Nord situation under control and prevent a war. The unexpected appearance of a pale Divine Knight which destroys the engines forces Mueller to attempt to land the ship after retreat is made impossible. Mueller later works with the Calvardian army to make sure events are resolved peacefully in Nord.

Trivia
- It is unknown what happened to his biological mother/Matteus's first wife. Mueller's stepmother was Aurier, who was his younger brother Kurt's biological mother.
- Mueller (nowadays written as Müller) is a German word and common last name which translates to "miller".
