월광목마단

The Order of the Moonlight Horse (月光木馬團) was an organization of assassins that had been operational since the Dark Ages, until its destruction in S. 1194. The Dark Ages ended in S. 500, meaning the organization had existed for at least 700 years.

Background

The Order of the Moonlight Horse was an organization of assassins. Sharon Kreuger was formerly a member; back then, she had the title of "Severing Chains" passed down to her, and she was only known by her designation as "Kreuger" (not taking up the name "Sharon" until much later). She described herself as being its second most skilled member when she was 13 (in S. 1194).

In its final years, the organization held a rivalry with a then-new faction, Ouroboros, behind the scenes. In S. 1194, the rivalry ended when Ouroboros's most powerful agents - McBurn, Leonhardt and Arianrhod - destroyed the Order. Afterwards, three of the Order's members migrated to Ouroboros:

• Sharon became Enforcer No. IX, and retained her title of "Severing Chains".
• Lucrezia Isselee became Enforcer No. III, with the title of "Golden Butterfly".
• Ellroy Harwood became the Fourth Anguis, with the title of "Thousand Oathbreaker".

It is unknown if the titles Lucrezia and Harwood use in Ouroboros were retained or new.

Following the destruction of the Order, Harwood introduced the survivors of the Order, including Melchior, to the remnants of the exterminated D∴G cult, and in doing so, founded the assassin organization later known as the Gardens. Harwood then washed his hands of the new organisation and left it to Melchior.

• When Sharon confronted the Emperor in 영웅전설 시작의 궤적, he remarked that he knew that Sharon was a member of the Moonlight Horse, and Sharon was surprised for him to be aware of this. This suggests there is a connection between the Emperor's Organization and the Order, as they are both assassination organizations, however the Emperor's organization is still standing. This is proven that the Emperor's organization is comprised of remaining members from the Moonlight Horse and the the D∴G Cult that was exterminated years ago, under the plot of Ellroy while no one was aware of this fact.
• The Order of the Moonlight Horse had three leaders who Ellroy murdered, allowing him to assume leadership position over the group.
