The Sky Bandit's Stronghold (空賊砦) is an ancient fortress located deep in Nebel Valley.

Background

The stronghold was the home and main base of the Capua Family and their gang of sky bandits. It was originally an ancient fortress from the time of the Ancient Zemurian civilisation, and was hypothesized to have been built prior to the Great Collapse. It had also been hypothesized by Olivier Lenheim that it was built to be a shelter of sorts for people.

After the loss of their land in Erebonia, the siblings took the Bobcat and resorted to a life of piracy, eventually repurposing the old ruins as their base. During the Missing Linde Incident in S.1202, all of the crew and passengers on the Linde were transported to this fortress and kept under strict guard in one of the rooms. The hostages were rescued by Estelle, Joshua, Scherazard and Olivier during their infiltration of the hideout, while the Royal Army, led by Alan Richard of the newly founded Intelligence Division, arrested the bandits trying to escape.

Background

Later that year, the ancient fortress was converted into a new Liberlian military training facility to train fledgling pilots in air combat, which Dorothy Hyatt was sent to report on. The Bobcat was also stored here until Mueller Vander arrived to return it to Erebonia.

Joshua, having freed the Capua siblings from prison, temporarily allies with them to continue his plan to eliminate the Faceless. They infiltrate the stronghold in order to steal the Bobcat back, but Mueller attempts to stop them. Joshua and Josette (who ends up outclassed) face off with Mueller, but they're interrupted by the Capua brothers managing to start off the Bobcat's engine.

Joshua, who has deduced Olivier's identity from Mueller, escapes with the Bobcat and the Capua family and in the process is photographed by Dorothy. She would later take this photo to Estelle in Grancel, who decides to follow this lead and travel to Bose.
