The Glorious (グロリアス), also known as the Crimson Ark (紅(あか)の方舟(はこぶね)), is the highly advanced battleship used by Ouroboros.

Background

While Georg Weissmann and Leonhardt are experimenting with the Gospel on Ragnard, Campanella obtained permission on his behalf to use the Glorious for the purposes of the Gospel Plan.

After Estelle and Kevin's infiltration of the Lakeside Laboratory and the subsequent kidnapping of Estelle, she awakens aboard the Glorious with Renne, who takes her to the ship's sanctuary where Weissmann offers Estelle to join Ouroboros. She refuses and tries to attack him, only to be deflected by Loewe, as Bleublanc, Walter and Luciola also reveal themselves. Weissmann allows Estelle to have some time to think about his offer while he and the Enforcers go out to advance the next stage of the plan.

Loewe visits Estelle in her room and tells the story of the Hamel Tragedy, where he and Joshua survived the massacre of the villagers while Karin Astray, Joshua's sister and Loewe's lover, died protecting the former. He continued telling how Weissmann conditioned Joshua into an Enforcer of Ouroboros as they watch the other Enforcers and Weissmann fly out on airships.

Afterwards, Estelle begins her escape plan by tricking the guards into thinking she'd jumped out of the window, and is able to reach the deck of the ship, where she is stopped by several jaegers and Gilbert Stein, who has joined Ouroboros as a jaeger. After a brief fight, another jaeger shows up to help, but instead knocks out the other jaegers and Gilbert. Joshua, who had sneaked in the Glorious aboard a scout ship and disguised himself, takes off his helmet and chastises Estelle, while Loewe appears to confront them. Joshua reveals he had altered the ship's engines taking advantage of his previous Enforcer status, forcing Loewe to leave and fix them by himself lest the ship falls.

Estelle and Joshua head for the hangars, but Campanella stands on their way. Instead of fighting them himself, he summons a Pale Apache to slow them down while they defeat it. By the time they're able to board the airship Joshua had prepared, three more airships launch to follow them, but the Bobcat comes in and helps take some of the pursuers out, allowing the two to escape.

Background

The Glorious continued operational after the appearance of the Liber Ark and subsequent country-wide Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon, which the Enforcers and Weissmann used to reach the Ark. The Glorious then remained on guard to try and prevent the Arseille carrying the bracers from reaching the city, but the smaller airship managed to outmaneuver the Glorious and speed past it unscathed. However, Loewe was waiting aboard a Reverie Dragion, a new Ouroboros archaism derived from the Reverie, and sheared off one of the Arseille's auxiliary engines, causing it to crash on the border of the Liber Ark.

At the city, the bracers rescue Josette Capua from more archaisms, who tells them that the rest of the Capua Family and gang had been captured by Ouroboros and taken into the Glorious, docked at the other end of the Liber Ark. They infiltrate the Glorious together, and after defeating Gilbert again, they're able to free the sky bandits, who give them the password for the tunnels leading to the Axis Pillar.

영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 the 3rd

Background

The final monument of the Sixth Plane of Phantasma is written by the Schwarzritter in place of the Lord of Phantasma, needing Joshua to activate it. Kevin and him are transported to the deck of the Black Ark, a black and purple colored copy of the Glorious.

The way to the forecastle is blocked by a barrier, making the stern the only direction possible at first. In the brig, they find Gilbert locked up in one of the cells lamenting his luck. Kevin and Joshua decide to free him, after which he gives them the latest security card for the real Glorious before running away again. The keycard lets them open the elevator to the hangar, where they find copies of Don, Kyle and the rest of the Capua Delivery Service workers. After their defeat, they don't vanish completely, remaining in Phantasma long enough to help Josette when she needs them.

The barrier blocking the forecastle disappears, and the group are able to reach the Sanctuary deep inside the Ark. There they meet copies of Bleublanc, Walter and Luciola, who call out Kevin on his deception. Kevin decides to go all out and declare them as heretics to unleash his Stigma. After they are defeated, a warp appears that takes them to a separate space named the Farewell Arena, where the Schwarzritter awaits.

Joshua asks him why he masks himself, despite knowing the answer. The Schwarzritter dares him to say it, but Joshua answers that he'll reveal it by breaking his mask himself. After defeating him and the Black Dragion, Loewe congratulates Joshua, who correctly deduced that his inability to accept his death at the Liber Ark manifested in Phantasma to hide his identity. Finally able to say their goodbyes properly, Loewe also confirms Kevin's hunch regarding the Lord's identity, and with the final Guardian defeated, they're able to head through the mist in Erbe Scenic Route.

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV

At the behest of Cedric Reise Arnor under orders from Giliath Osborne, the Glorious is deployed to further Ouroboros' aims in Erebonia by attacking the Pantagruel summit where Operation Mille Mirage is being planned. The Glorious doesn't actually participate in the main attack, instead deploying waves of ships and three Aions.

Later, the Glorious defends the airspace around the Tuatha De Danann, using a similar strategy as before.

영웅전설 시작의 궤적

The Glorious is briefly seen as a place Cedric is training after his aspiration to join as an enforcer. Mariabell Crois and F. Novartis watch from a distance and discuss his merits.

Structure

The Glorious is the largest airship seen yet, with a length of 280 arge. Equipped with 22 orbal engines, its speed is comparable to the Arseille, even if its size makes for lower maneuverability, and its firepower is unparalleled, being equipped with a large array of armaments, including orbal anti-air cannons and homing missiles. Despite all of that, the Glorious' stealth capabilities make it also near undetectable.

Only the back half of the ship is seen in detail during Estelle and Joshua's incursions: the forecastle and stern with two floors each; a brig big enough to hold the entire Capua gang sans Josette; three hangars with enough space to dock 12 patrol airships, making the Glorious an aircraft carrier; and the sanctuary, with a pipe organ used by Weissmann, and access to the Celestial Globe.

Inside, archaisms constantly patrol the hallways, while electrified security barriers raise automatically to block certain paths. Both the sanctuary and the engine room are strictly monitored, with only Anguis and Enforcers being allowed in. Voice identification technology, implemented by F. Novartis, prevents intruders with stolen security cards from entering these vital areas.
