Hold on, it looks like Millium wants to tell you something.
Hey-hey! White Rabbit here! Lammy scanned this article and said it contains unmarked spoilers for all Trails games. Turn back now if you don't want to get lasered! Okay, byee!

The Orpheus Final Plan (オルフェウス最終計画) is the master plan of Ouroboros. 'Orpheus' was first mentioned in 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 SC before it was revealed as Ouroboros' grand plan in 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 the 3rd.

Background

The plan is drafted by the Grandmaster. According to Anguis Vita Clotilde, it involves guidance of all souls.[1]

The Orpheus Final Plan is divided into multiple phases centered around one or more Sept-Terrion.

List of phases

Gospel Plan

The first phase, known as the Gospel Plan, aimed to retrieve the Aureole, the Sept-Terrion of Space that was sealed away in Liberl. The plan is spearheaded by the Third Anguis, Georg Weissmann. The plan starts in S.1202 and ends in March S.1203, covering the events in 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 FC and SC.

As the Aureola holds absolute dominion over space itself, it was sent alongside the Liber Ark into another dimension and was temporarily frozen. This Plan, together with Ouroboros' activities throughout Liberl and the Aureole's reappearance in S.1203 causing the Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon, is collectively known as the Liberl incident.

The Assault on the Imperial Guilds and disappearance of airliner Linde serve as preparations for the Gospel Plan. Their aim was to remove potential threats to the plan's completion, like Cassius Bright.

Phantasmal Blaze Plan

The start of the second phase, the Phantasmal Blaze Plan, was announced after completion of the Gospel Plan by the Grandmaster in 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 the 3rd. According to Vita Clotide the plan aimed to 'to use the hollow Phantasm in Crossbell to awaken the Blaze in the Empire'.[2] The plan is coordinated by the Sixth Anguis, F. Novartis, and Seventh Anguis, Arianrhod in Crossbell and by the Second Anguis, Vita Clotilde, in Erebonia. The plan starts in S.1204 and ends in S.1206, spanning 영웅전설 제로의 궤적 and 벽의 궤적 and 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 I, II, III, and IV.

In Crossbell, Ouroboros cooperates with the recreation of the Sept-Terrion of Mirage, Demiourgos, which chose to erase itself from existence, with the manifestation of the Sept-Terrion of Zero. In Erebonia, Ouroboros allies themselves with the Noble Alliance to start a civil war as a setting for a Rivalry between two Divine Knights. Their plan, however, is thwarted by Chancellor Giliath Osborne. Osborne's plan to usher in the Great Twilight aligns with Ouroboros' aims and they collaborate until the final Rivalry. The Phantasmal Blaze Plan ends with the disappearance of the Great One, the resultant power from an ancient battle between the Ark Rouge, the Sept-Terrion of Fire, and Lost Zem, the Sept-Terrion of Earth.

Eternal Recurrence Plan

The third phase, the Eternal Recurrence Plan, was announced after completion of the Phantasmal Blaze Plan by the Grandmaster in 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV. Its aim involves Laegjarn's Chest, the Sept-Terrion of Time. The plan started in S.1208 and covers the events of 영웅전설 여의 궤적, 여의 궤적 II, and 계의 궤적.

In 영웅전설 계의 궤적, it is hinted that there is at least one more stage after the Eternal Recurrence Plan. Only the Grandmaster know the names and plans of future stages; not even the Anguis are informed. It is suggested the Grandmaster finds it pointless to share information on future stages if the third phase can't be completed.

Trivia

  • During the development of 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 the 3rd, the Orpheus Final Plan would follow after completion of the Gospel Plan. In the final version, the Phantasmal Blaze Plan was introduced as the next step toward the completion of the Orpheus Final Plan.
  • In Greek mythology, Orpheus is regarded as a musician capable of charming all living and even inanimate things with music. He is best known for his attempt to retrieve his wife Eurydice from the underworld. It is unclear what relationship the Orpheus Final Plan and the Greek mythological Orpheus share.
  • Naming the Ourobouros's finale plan after Orpheus is homage to the Orphic Rites practiced in classical Greece.
