Lechter Arundel (レクター・アランドール), also known as Scarecrow (かかし男(スケアクロウ)), is introduced as a commissioned captain of the Intelligence Division of the Imperial Army of Erebonia, an intelligence officer holding the title of diplomatic secretary and a member of the Ironbloods.

A mysterious young man who used to be the student council president of the Jenis Royal Academy. He always skipped council work and went out to play around, causing a lot of trouble to those around him with his outlandish and erratic behavior, yet sometimes it seems like it was all part of his calculation. He had been messing around with Kloe since she transferred to the Academy.

An eccentric young man who Lloyd and the team met at the Schwarze Auction in Trails from Zero. Apparently, he works for the Blood and Iron Chancellor. Aside from that, he is a man of mystery who wears a variety of hats, from second secretary of the Imperial government to a captain of the Imperial Army. Lechter visits Crossbell again in Trails to Azure, working toward some unspecified purpose.

A Major in the Imperial Army's Intelligence Division, a diplomatic secretary, and a member of the Ironbloods. Though he may seem young, carefree, and irresponsible at times, he's succeeded in many unofficial negotiations and covert operations, earning him the title of "Scarecrow." During the civil war, he was undercover in Crossbell, and witnessed the country's bid for independence. He then worked alongside agents from Calvard and the Special Support Section to overthrow Crossbell's self-declared president. Since the civil war's conclusion, he's been taking part in various operations around the empire for the Intelligence Division. He's also visited Rean a number of times, bearing orders from the government for the Ashen Chevalier.

A high ranking officer in the Erebonian Intelligence Division and one of the Ironbloods, handpicked individuals working directly under Osborne. Though he may come off as flippant and laid-back, he's extremely capable when it comes to gathering intel, performing delicate negotiations, and working behind the scenes. After the civil war, he was also tasked with relaying the government's orders to the Ashen Chevalier, Rean Schwarzer.

A secretary for the Imperial government and a talented major in its Intelligence Division. Originally an Ironblood, his laid-back front yet ruthless negotiating earned him the nickname 'Scarecrow.' He became Osborne's pawn during the disastrous Great Twilight and was ready to take his own life to atone for his failure, but Rean and company convinced him to return to the Intelligence Division to support the Empire's future. Now his gut, which has never let him down before, is telling him that a new threat looms over Zemuria. This has led him to the newly liberated Crossbell...

Appearance

Lechter is a young man with messy medium length scarlet hair and green eyes. He is mostly commonly seen in his dark violet and red suit worn for official Intelligence Division business. He wears a white collar shit and cobalt waistcoat underneath, along with violet trousers that match his suit, smart brown shoes and white gloves. He also wears a lilac cravat with a turquoise brooch and carries a slim ornate rapier with a purple hilt and turquoise gem on the pommel.

As a Student at Jenis Royal Academy, Lechter wore the standard male uniform consisting of a dark navy and red blazer, white shirt worn untucked and matching trousers. He also wore shades in his hair.

When undercover as a "tourist" in Crossbell, he wore baggy clothing consisting of board shorts, a baggy fuchsia suit and pink shirt along with goggles and a necklace of strung turquoise gemstones. He also wore sandals and several golden bangles.

Personality

Despite his reputation as the Scarecrow, Lechter has a friendly, laid-back personality. He has a tendency to act irresponsibly, carefree and makes himself at home wherever he wants, much to the annoyance of everyone around him. He appears to be somewhat lazy and carefree on the surface, having been considered a troublemaker by his fellow Student Council members at Jenis Royal Academy. Despite this, he genuinely cares for the well-being of others and is willing to give them a helping hand, even if done indirectly.

Lechter takes his duties in Erebonia's Intelligence Division seriously and is a proficient negotiator when the need arises, although he is not above tacit manipulation to arrange things in his favor. Lechter states he has an aptitude for making lucky guesses intuitively.
