Lloyd Bannings (ロイド・バニングス) is the leader of the Crossbell Police Department's Special Support Section. He is the main protagonist of 영웅전설 제로의 궤적 and 영웅전설 벽의 궤적, and one of the three main protagonists of 영웅전설 시작의 궤적.

Introduction

영웅전설 제로의 궤적

A rookie detective in the Crossbell Police Department and the main character of Trails from Zero. After his brother—an accomplished detective—died in the line of duty, Lloyd left Crossbell and spent three years living abroad. Now, after attending the police academy, graduating with top marks, and becoming a detective himself, Lloyd has returned to his homeland. While he's typically the most serious and by-the-books member of the group, when faced with threats or injustice, his passionate spirit will ignite. His weapons of choice are a set of specialized police batons, also known as tonfa, which are made for suppressing dangerous threats.

영웅전설 벽의 궤적

A young detective from the Crossbell Police Department and returning protagonist of Trails from Zero. After extenuating circumstances led to the temporary dissolution of the Special Support Section, he transferred to the First Investigative Division to receive formal training in counterintelligence and counterterrorism.

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV

A detective with the Crossbell PD and the leader of the Special Support Section. Lloyd posseses a heart that burns for justice and a steadfast soul that can overcome any obstacle before him. Together with his friends in the SSS, they solved a number of difficult cases. After Crossbell was annexed, he began working with the resistance. Two months ago, he and his comrades were trapped in Mishelam as part of Rufus' scheme. Thanks to Rean and Class VII's work, however, they were able to escape. He showed his support to Rean and the others as they left Crossbell and then began working once more toward reclaiming his home's independence.

영웅전설 시작의 궤적

The leader of the Crossbell Police Department's Special Support Section who has cracked countless cases through his courage and passion for justice. He became a wanted man when Crossbell was annexed by Erebonia, but along with KeA, a young girl taken in by the CPD, and Arios, an A-rank bracer, he evaded capture and worked toward Crossbell's independence from the shadows. His lengthy efforts eventually paid off, and after two and a half years, he successfully reopened the Special Support Section and brought back its founding members. Now surrounded by the jubilant cries of fellow Crossbellans as they rejoice the return of the SSS, Lloyd is counting down the days until his beloved home will be recognized as an autonomous state once more.

Appearance

Lloyd appears as a young man with short brown hair and eyes. He dresses with khaki pants, dark brown boots, and a yellow-orange shirt which is worn behind his signature CSPD blue and white jacket. In the Trails to Azure epilogue, the yellow-orange shirt is replaced with a red shirt after the Azure Tree aftermath.

In his later appearance, Lloyd retains most of his outfit, wearing only the jacket open, revealing a red shirt underneath. His hair is slightly longer and he has grown taller.

Lloyd uses twin tonfas in battle, feature long black metal bars with silver plates and a red orbment. He later acquires Guy's tonfas which are slightly rounder and have some indentations in them.

Personality

Lloyd is a kind young man who cares for the well‑being of others and his country. He had a good relationship with his family until their deaths, but despite his traumatic past, it does not keep him down. His determination and method of approaching problems make him well liked by many, including criminals like Cao Lee and Garcia Rossi.

While Lloyd is typically the most serious and by‑the‑books member of the group, when faced with threats or injustice, his passionate spirit and heart ignite, which makes him a very earnest young man, yet also honest and logical, all the while zealously opposing injustice and violence. He cares for KeA and is always concerned for her well‑being ever since meeting her.

However, Lloyd can sometimes doubt himself, especially when facing a tough situation where he or the other members of the Special Support Section are unable to find a way to resolve the issue, such as being ridiculed by others who mimic the Bracer Guild.

Lloyd is rather dense when it comes to interpersonal relationships and frequently says sweet things which can often cause others to feel flustered.

Trivia

• Lloyd's Japanese and English voice actor combination is the exact same as Prompto Argentum from Final Fantasy XV, with Final Fantasy being yet another recurring Japanese RPG franchise.
