Introduction

A mysterious figure whose name is whispered about in Calvard's Eastern Quarter as a legendary assassin. Though the face that lies beneath the mask and thick, black cloak has never been seen, Yin is nonetheless feared as one of the deadliest individuals in the entire criminal underworld.

Background

Yin is the name of a legendary Eastern assassin active in Calvard, particularly in Langport, where they are known as the Demon of the Eastern Quarter. Yin is often under contract work for Heiyue. Yin has been active for at least 100 years and the rise into legend began at the time of the Calvardian revolution. The records of the time mention Yin's name frequently, as a demon draped in black who sent one prominent figure after another to their grave during that chaotic period in history.

40 years ago, the Yin of the time was under the thrall of the Tyrant in Langport. Yin was involved in sealing the Tyrant into the Heilong Cheng Zhai after fear of his tyranny grew too strong.

According to Cao Lee, The name Yin holds a particularly strong influence within the Eastern Quarter. Garbed in a mask and shawl of ebony, no one has gazed at the assassin's true face. He appears like a shadow and vanishes like a phantom and his prey has never once escaped. Some say Yin may be immortal.Though his true identity is unknown, Zemuria's greatest assassin can be employed for the right price and under the right conditions. They are a master of all assassination techniques, a dark martial artist with incredible dexterity and agility. No one dares deny his existence.

The name Yin has been passed down in the family for generations, with successive generations taking up the mantle from the previous. There is only one Yin active at a time, the inheritance cannot happen whilst the previous Yin is still alive. The heir is usually trained from a young age to inherit the legacy. Killing the previous Yin is the official method of succession. The skills and the memories of each situation are also passed down. For Yin's storied history to continue- for the legend to live on- the successor has to inherit everything from their predecessor. Yin is capable of using techniques such as Neigong to alter their physique and qi, so their identity cannot be easily found out. they are also trained in deadly weapons and talisman mastery.

The current Yin is Rixia Mao, who inherited the title from her father, Mund. She did not officially kill her father, who was on his deathbed, but instead her father let her choose the type of Yin she wished to be.

For an unknown reason, the Gardens, an organisation of assassins, hates Yin and has orders to kill them upon sight.
