Elaine Auclair (エレイン・オークレール), also known as Beauty's Blade (剣の乙女(ソードメイデン), "Sword Maiden"), is an A-rank bracer affiliated with the branches in Calvard.

An ace Bracer, the youngest ever to reach A-rank in the Calvard Bracer Guild. Her regal elegance and flowing pale blonde hair have earned her the title Beauty's Blade, not to mention several offers of modeling and acting gigs that she turned down to pursue her bracer career. She entered the guild just after graduating from a top academy and racked up notable victories abroad with her traditional swordsmanship. Before long, she had achieved A-rank in the guild at just 23 years of age. The fact that her childhood friend and schoolmate, Van, returned to Edith and took up a job that put him at odds with the guild weighs heavy on Elaine's heart.

An A-rank bracer affiliated with the Edith branch of the Bracer Guild. She is occasionally referred to by the moniker 'Beauty's Blade.' Due to her dignified beauty and masterful skill with a sword, Elaine tends to catch the eye of the media more often than not. Unfortunately, this also leads to talent agencies offering her contracts for modeling and acting—she always declines. Outside of being the poster girl for the Bracer Guild, Elaine has no present interest in joining the world of entertainment. During her high school years, she enjoyed a brief and fleeting romance with Van before he suddenly vanished without so much as a word. It was only recently, after seven years, that the two were able to reunite. Although their lingering feelings for each other have left their current relationship a bit tense, their time fighting Almata together was able to strengthen their bond once more. Some time after the events involving Almata and the Oct-Geneses, Elaine received word that the Central Intelligence Department's elite Gamma Squad had been brutally murdered by an unknown assailant, and that a 'crimson' monster was spotted at the scene of the crime...

An A-rank bracer known as 'Beauty's Blade' for her masterful swordsmanship and comely appearance. Born to the prestigious house behind the Quincy Company, a famed confectionery, she chose to forge her own path with the Bracer Guild after graduation, much to her family's chagrin. Though Elaine's relationship with childhood friend and former school sweetheart Van has seen its share of ups and downs, surmounting Calvard's recent incidents together has brought the two step by step closer to a mutual understanding. Having caught wind of a resurgence in anti-immigration sentiment across Zemuria amidst Project Startaker, Elaine now sets out to investigate in her capacity as a bracer.

Appearance

Elaine is a young woman with long platinum blonde hair, some of which is tied back into braids. She wears a green bust dress with long tails, short white shirt sleeves attached to a collar, and black thigh-high stockings with white high-heeled boots. She also wears silver wrist guards with white gloves and carries a silver cruciform sword kept in a blue scabbard. Elaine wears a white handbag over her shoulder with a golden cross buckle.

When acting on business separate from the Bracer Guild, Elaine wears an alternate outfit consisting of a black buttoned shirt, dark shorts, black thigh high leggings, brown leather high-heeled boots, and a long mint green coat with a fanned out collar, belt buckled sleeves and a quilted pattern near the coat tails. A white belt ties her coat around her waist.

Personality

Elaine is a calm and prudent young woman, but also very humble and dignified, possessing enough self awareness to decide she is not yet worthy of A-rank within the Bracer Guild. She dislikes making things difficult for others and has no desire to be in the spotlight. Because of this, she maintains a serious and dedicated demeanor in her work as a bracer, choosing to ignore the attention and fanfare that often surround her.

Elaine is deeply nostalgic for the days when she spent time with her two childhood friends, who have since gone their separate ways. For the most part, she is committed to doing things by the book, but she is willing to operate in the grey areas when necessary to achieve her goals. She becomes extremely antagonistic and threatening whenever someone makes comments about her age.

Elaine also shows a particular degree of frustration and petty irritation toward Van, who seems especially skilled at riling her up. As a close childhood friend, he often says or does things that unintentionally annoy her, leading to frequent exasperation on her part. Despite her serious nature, Elaine is a big fan of Mishy and has shown interest in a movie based on the character.
