Jusis Albarea (ユーシス・アルバレア) is introduced as the son of Duke Albarea, one of the Four Great Houses, and a member of Thors Military Academy's Class VII.

Profile

Introduction

영웅전설 섬의 궤적

The second son of the Albarea family, one of the Four Great Houses which governs the eastern province of Kreuzen. He naturally displays the arrogance of an aristocrat, but even if he is quite bossy he means no harm. He has been clashing with Machias since their eyes first met; by maintaining a calm attitude he often adds fuel to the fire by mocking Machias' narrow-mindedness, which is caused by his deep-rooted hatred for aristocrats. Jusis learnt traditional court fencing from his brother, and thanks to his training he is now quite a skilled swordsman. He is also interested in Rean's Eight Leaves One Blade Style and Laura's swordsmanship, and wouldn't mind duel with them.[1]

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 II

The bastard son of Duke Albarea, head of one of the Four Great Houses, and younger brother of Rufus Albarea, chief of staff of the Noble Alliance. Jusis is filled with the pride of a noble, but his current position leaves him conflicted on what it means to carry himself in a way befitting of his status; should he side with his friends and put a stop to the war as a third faction, or should he continue grasping for approval from his power-hungry father as a member of the Noble Alliance?[2]

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III

The second son of House Albarea—one of the Four Great Houses—and the younger brother of Rufus Albarea—the current governor general of Crossbell. Burdened by the fact that he was an illegitimate heir, he remained aloof toward both the nobles and commoners of Thors after he first arrived. However, he eventually opened up to his fellow members of Class VII. As his father had since been incarcerated and his brother named governor general, Jusis took over his family's lands after he graduated, filling in as acting duke of the Kreuzen province. He devoted himself to helping the province's capital, Bareahard, recover from the civil war. As he does, however, he begins to worry about the actions the government has been taking against the nobility. The new tax laws and the treatment of the Vander family being of particular concern. He resolves to keep a close eye on the situation and stay in touch with the other heads of the Four Great Houses.[3]

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV

The brilliant and talented second son of House Albarea—one of the Four Great Houses. He governs the Kreuzen Province as acting lord in the stead of his father Helmut—arrested for his role in the civil war—and brother Rufus—current governor general of Crossbell Province. Striving to act in a manner befitting the Empire's nobility, he dedicated himself to his duties, including the Imperial Provincial Council, during which, he approved the successor to the Cayenne Duchy. During the crisis in Heimdallr, Jusis learned of the twisted truth behind his brother's lineage, just moments before witnessing the death of someone irreplaceable to him.[4]

영웅전설 시작의 궤적

The second son of House Albarea, one of the Four Great Houses, the acting duke of the Kreuzen province, and a member of Class VII. As the representative of his family in place of his father, who fell from grace during the civil war, he did an exemplary job of supporting the citizens in the eastern part of the Empire. He also faced off against his brother, Rufus, who walked down an unjust path in his disillusionment with his family's disgraceful politics. Jusis came out the victor, bringing an end to a long-standing feud between the two. After the disaster passed, he continued acting as the very personification of 'noblesse oblige,' working with fellow nobles across the Empire in hopes of forging a fine future for their country's people. It is during these continued efforts that an incident inspires him to aid Rean...[5]

Appearance

Jusis is a young man with icy blue eyes and blonde hair. As a student of Thors, Jusis wore the the crimson Class VII uniform. He preferred wearing it very casually, having the jacket completely unbuttoned with a sweater vest underneath, and paired with flannel pants and dress shoes.

During the October War, Jusis went for a formal white shirt with a black neck-scarf, navy blue waistcoat, black trousers, knee high leather boots and a long green coat. He wears two belts in opposite diagonal angles, one of burgundy and one of gold. He also wears black riding gloves.

Taking over as the provincial lord after graduation, Jusis wears a formal teal blue coat with two tails over a white military style suit and white trousers. He now wears white riding gloves, smart slip-on shoes and a lime green cravat.

In combat, he brandishes a one-handed sword and assumes a fencing style combat stance. Later, Jusis uses one of the holy swords of House Albarea, Elvars, a silver dual edged blade with several spiky protrusions.

Personality

Jusis comes off as a composed and serious noble. He has a haughtiness that seems typical of nobles, but is mostly to keep up appearances rather than for ill-will. Jusis shows a strong belief in the proper role of nobility, and despises nobles who attempt to callously curry favour with him. He believes that nobles have a responsibility to do right by their people, and he takes it upon himself to do everything he can to act like a proper noble. He is sometimes unsure about what is right for a noble, but shows disdain at his father's harsh policies.

Much to his classmates' surprise, Jusis gets along well with children. He gives advice to two children from Bareahard, looking out for them as an older brother figure, and they show great excitement in return. This also extends to Millium, and Jusis ends up developing a strong bond with her. Although he is often exasperated by Millium's childish behaviour toward him and has to deal with her over‑hyper nature and affection for him, he nonetheless sees her as a younger sister figure and is affected heavily by her sacrifice at the Gral of Erebos.
