At the age of 17, she enrolls at the Thors Branch Campus where she is placed in Class VIII: combat tactics. She is close friends with Juna Crawford and Louise, who are in a different classes, but are all part of the tennis club together. She is also an acquaintance of Angelica Rogner. Jessica eventually learns how to pilot a Spiegel unit, using a scaled up version of her spear.
Jessica is self conscious about her own level of competency with the spear, having only reached her family's intermediate level with one. Rean provides her with some additional training and raises her confidence. She takes every opportunity she can to improve and train.
When arriving in Leeves to find Tio and Elise, Rean's party meet up with Jessica and Wayne in the closed down Nienvalli branch. Jessica initially returned to her family after the Great Twilight, but soon found a way to leave as she was being watched by the government. Wayne and Jessica had previously been focusing their efforts in the Nortia province. Jessica is asked to contact the Merkabah.
Rean, by chance, spots Jessica helping Wayne with her training, but states states that her advice can only go so far as the Schleiden School's sword techniques are not as focused upon as the spear. Rean thinks of a way to help both of them and fetches Duvalie, Laura and Fie to help train them and boost their confidence. Through the fight, she was able to see her limitations and next steps.
Jessica is also involved in a tennis match with Juna and Louise, winning one of the matches. At Mishelam before the Great War, Jessica is really happy to spend time with Laura S. Arseid and Fie Claussell who are both powerful combatants in their own right. In the final battle, Jessica is based on the Courageous II with the other students.
