Diana's story.
Background
Diana was born in Crossbell to Henry MacDowell and his wife. She married Ryan Connery, a Calvardian, and had a daughter, Elie MacDowell. However, when Ryan's venture into Crossbellan politics fell through because of pressure from both factions of the Crossbell diet, they had a divorce and Ryan returned to Calvard.
Diana then chose to move with distant relatives in Erebonia, barons in eastern Lamare, and arrived at Milsante. She renovated an empty house into a store and helped revive the town by campaigning to have a train station built, turning Milsante into a tourist destination.

Diana is met for the first time when Rean Schwarzer's students come to Milsante after having left the Avon Hills. Meyer and Harche are her shop assistants. She is concerned that the shop will need to stock up on supplies, particularly medical stocks due to the upcoming conflict with Calvard. Diana has been using lots of tricks and managing her stock very carefully to avoid being hit to hard by the requisitioning and avoid shortages. It is also mentioned her family have been helping out with resources. She offers the party advice to avoid Grenville due to the conscription offices active there and lets them know about Sidney in the White Birch Inn.
Later, Diana travels to Crossbell. The official reason given to her staff is that she needed to stock up on honey but they suspect it isn't the real reason. Diana is caught up in the ambitions of one of the Seventy-Seven Devils, Scyllamarme who abducts her and takes her into a Spirit World version of the Geofront. The Special Support Section and Rean's party team up to defeat the devil and rescue Diana from having her soul extracted. She meets Elie after a long time apart and marvels at how much she has grown. She is humbled that they would go to all the trouble for her and expresses her gratitude for being able to see her daughter again.

Mayor MacDowell contacts Diana, who has moved back to Erebonia, in light of the events surrounding Retributive Tower's appearance. He relays that she has agreed to help send supplies to everyone when Elie comes to check up on him.
