Inspector Reiner (ライナー監察官) is a member of the Imperial Inspectorate.

Appearance
Reiner is a young man with blond hair and brown eyes. He wears the uniform of a member of the Imperial Inspectorate, which resembles that of Machias Regnitz, albeit without the blue overtones and being more monochrome. He wears a white shirt and blue tie under his jacket, which has the black and white portion to indicate the relation to the law.
Personality
Reiner has a strong mind for justice, deciding to take on the a daunting challenge even though the odds are against him, and at potential risk to his own well-being. he is very friendly, even with friends of friends.
영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III and IV
Reiner is first met in Crossbell City, where the Inspectorate are called in to oversee events with the 'Imperial Inspection' taking place. He works closely with Machias who introduces him to Rean Schwarzer and new Class VII. He mentions that Machias has mentioned them a lot but their time to get acquainted is limited as both he and Machias are due to meet with Rufus Albarea. He wishes them well in their field studies.
The group later encounter Reiner again, who is determined to inspect the Imperial government as he is sure there is something wrong. They tell him to be careful. Rener is later seen inspecting buildings and he claims he is feeling dejected as the government is making him run in circles.
After the Great Twilight, Reiner is investigating a conspiracy involving Wads and Alster. He asks Class VII to leave things to him but they surprise him with the news that the residents are already planning on moving out, and decides to work with the group. He is also met when heading to Rufus' office for an inspection, determined to unravel the corruption with the new information provided by Kleist & Co.. he isn't worried about being thrown out as it would vindicate him.

Reiner is invited to take part in the judging of the dishes for Olivert Reise Arnor's wedding. He remarks that it is the first time he is judging food rather than inspecting it. He is overwhelmed by Freddy's dish.
Reiner accompanies Machias as part of the inspectorate team that assists Sonya Baelz three days after the liberation of Crossbell.
