Isola Millstein (イソラ・ミルスティン) was a wandering witch and the mother of Emma Millstein.

Appearance

Isola was a tall woman with blue eyes and long wavy purple hair that was loosely tied with a red ribbon. She wore a long white dress with a green gemstone brooch and ribbon tie, blue corset, brown high-heeled boots and a long blue hooded robe. Isola had a magic staff that ended in a blue crystal and a spiralling spiral of wood, although at some point she possessed Roselia Millstein's staff, which glowed light blue in her possession.

Personality

Isola was filled with wanderlust for the outside world, leaving behind her village to explore. Despite this, she was dedicated to her daughter and was determined to make the world a better place for her, no matter the cost to her own life. She was willing to sacrifice herself to achieve this.

Isola wandered through Erebonia to explore force fields, and investigated the septium veins and cleansed these of any defilement. During her travels, she fell in love with a man whom she married, settled down with and birthed a daughter, Emma. Her husband died soon after Emma's birth and Isola moved back to Eryn, where she and Emma started living together. Her pupil, Vita Clotilde, regularly stopped by and became a sister figure for Emma.

At one point, Isola catches wind of a blackness in the empire's mana and leaves the village to travel around Erebonia by spirit vein to investigate. She concluded that the blackness she had sensed was the power of the Great One, which her ancestors had once sealed away. Since the Hexen Clan had no involvement in this, she focus her research on her ancestors' former collaborators, the Gnomes. She hesitated to contact Roselia, not wanting to bother Vita and Emma, and proceeded with her investigation of the Gnomes' traces in secret.

Isola found all materials she gathered on the Rivalries and the vestiges of the Gnomes erased. She concluded the culprit she had to be look for was the leader of the Gnomes, Alberich, who was posing as a higher-up of the D∴G Cult invested in biological research at the time.

Battle against Alberich (영웅전설 시작의 궤적)

She knew Alberich was a parasitic, astral body among blood relatives of the Gnomes and that killing him would mean he'd resurrected in a new body, but also that if he wouldn't stop him now, he'd plunge the world into war. The battle against Alberich resulted in both sides dying.

Alberich transferred to Franz Reinford and Vita Clotilde continued Isola's investigation into the Rivalries and Great One, independently as a wandering witch until she met the Grandmaster and joined Ouroboros. Roselia assumed custody over Emma, taking her with her to Eryn.

영웅전설 시작의 궤적

A journal of Isola's surfaces in Eryn when Emma is deemed ready, and with the help of Zeit, the Holy Wolf, Emma, Vita, Roselia and Celine locate the Ivory Shrine, where Isola's journal leads. They follow the path down into the depths of the Shrine, passing a trial and following a white owl that was the familiar of Isola. As they descend, they receive brief glimpses of the past. In the depths, they receive a magical message from Isola which relates her history, gives her final farewells and expresses her last words for each of those present before departing forever.
