Cerberus (ケルベロス) is the partner and assistant to Jingo.

Appearance

Cerberus is a small border collie pup with thick black fur and white patches. A compact piece of communication equipment is attached to his collar.

Personality

Cerberus is held in high regard by his owner, Jingo, and acknowledged as talented by everyone he encounters. Despite the high standards and expectations of his owner, Cerberus remains extremely loyal and cheerful, eager to develop his skills.

Background

Jingo adopted Cerberus as a means of obtaining a reliable assistant and mascot for Neinvalli. She found him just before she came to Leeves and knew he had the potential to be a killer hunter some day. She named him after a ferocious beast of legend in order to make him more intimidating, and trains him thoroughly, well beyond the skills and abilities of any regular dog. For example, in combat training, Cerberus is trained to think of the enemy as a large beast whom he can chew the legs off of. Ashleigh, Jingo's mother, recognises Cerberus as having potential. Jingo regularly adapts Cerberus' training regimen to take account of his development. She takes him for runs and drills him, but rewards him handsomely with meat. He is being prepared to run through warzones, and has visited locations raided by even Ouroboros.

His many talents and abilities include:

• memorizing scents and tracking down individuals
• human/canine communication
• gymnastics, including handstands and crawl
• hunting
• running Neinvalli, including stock-taking, storefront maintenance and managing the counter
• conducting business negotiations
• Piloting an airship
• skydiving and parachuting
• running a dispatch business

영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III and IV

Throughout his appearances, Cerberus can be seen becoming more and more independent. He is initially seen assisting on the shop floor, cleaning and helping with tasks. Rean Schwarzer and the new Class VII enlist his help hunting down a lady's scent. Soon, Cerberus is running the storefront itself. Cerberus is now trained to skydive from airships in parachute and is taking many journeys as part of his training. He independently conducts business with Old Man Aaron and Stark.

Cerberus is now trusted to fly the Neinvalli Bobcat, taking the helm. According to Jingo, Cerberus is now in charge of his own Dispatch service as well. It is Cerberus who finds Jingo a happiness stone. Jingo implies Cerberus operates the gatling gun in the battle at Retributive Tower. Before the battle, Jingo sends Cerberus to talk with Zeit, to 'expand the store's connections.'
