브레이브 오더

Brave Order is a combat mechanic in 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III and IV and 영웅전설 시작의 궤적 that allows a character to give the party a lasting bonus at the cost of Brave Points.

Description

Brave Orders are abilities unique to each playable character in the series. On any party member's turn a Brave Order of any living party member can be activated, even if they are in backup or unable to act due to status effects. Activating a Brave Order does not cost a turn.

Most playable characters have only one Brave Order. Rean Schwarzer is the only exception from this rule in 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III and IV with 2 to 4 Brave Orders available. In 영웅전설 시작의 궤적 Lloyd Bannings and C have two Orders as well. Certain nonplayable characters, such as Patrick T. Hyarms have a Brave Order available when travelling with the party despite not participating in combat directly.

Each Order has a lasting effect with duration that decreases by 1 at the end of every party member's turn, excluding turns used to start casting an art, and some have an immediate effect that applies to all active party members, such as giving them a buff or recovering HP. No more than one Order can be activated per turn, and activating an Order while another one is active will cancel the old Order. It is also possible to cancel Brave Orders directly at no cost.

Unlocking and Upgrading

In 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 III Rean Schwarzer, Altina Orion, Kurt Vander and Juna Crawford each have a Brave Order that becomes available only after reaching a certain point in the story. Another one of Rean's Orders can be unlocked by completing the quest Even Greater Heights. All other characters have their Orders unlocked from the start.

In 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV all characters have their Orders unlocked from the start, but Class VII members can upgrade their orders by completing Trial Chest challenges. New Class VII members, including Rean Schwarzer, can upgrade each order twice, while old Class VII members, including Sara Valestein, can only upgrade them once. Non-Class VII characters cannot upgrade their Orders.

In 영웅전설 시작의 궤적, all characters have their Orders unlocked from the start, and cannot upgrade them.

Dis-Order

In 영웅전설 섬의 궤적 IV and 영웅전설 시작의 궤적 certain bosses can activate a Dis-Order, which cancels the active Order, gives a lasting negative effect with duration in party's turns and prevents the party from using their own Brave Orders until the Dis-Order's duration runs out.
