Shizuna Rem Misurugi (シズナ・レム・ミスルギ), also known as the Divine Blade of Silver (白銀(しろがね)の剣聖), is the vice commander of Ikaruga.

The second-in-command of Ikaruga, the so-called SSS-level jaeger corps based in the desert-crept wasteland of the East. She is a master of Black God One Blade style, known as the Divine Blade of Silver for her radiant, flawless form. She wears the latest model of power suit and wields an onyx odachi, a treasure of the East. Her innocent expression gives way to the Divine Blade's piercing focus when she's presented with the chance to test her skills against a worthy opponent. Something about her technique calls to mind the Eight Leaves One Blade, the culmination of all the Eastern sword techniques pursued by Yun Ka-fai, the Sword Hermit.

A practitioner of the Black God One Blade school who is also known as the Divine Blade of Silver. She is currently Ikaruga's second-in-command. Shizuna wields an Onyx Odachi that bears an intricate engraving on its blade. When in combat, her skill with this sword allows her to overpower even the strongest of fighters. Although she can come across as a bit too carefree at times, Shizuna is indeed a force to be reckoned with—not least of all for her ability to see through to the true nature of things by way of a technique called the 'Unclouded Eye,' which she learned from her master. This, along with her other unique skills, makes her more than suited to carry the name of 'Divine Blade.' Shizuna originally came into contact with the Arkride Solutions team while she was hiding out in the Ishgal Mountains. Since then, she has temporarily provided Van and his compatriots with support during the incidents surrounding Almata. Although they seem to have made some kind of deal with the Calvardian government, Ikaruga's activities, goals, and even the nature of their organization remain shrouded in mystery.

The second-in-command of Eastern Zemuria's strongest jaeger corps, Ikaruga, as well as a master of the Black God One Blade school of swordsmanship. Known as the 'Divine Blade of Silver,' she wields an ebon tachi believed to be the cursed Eastern sword of legend, Akagarasu. For over a year, Shizuna and Ikaruga have been lying low in the Ishagal Mountains as a base of sorts, conducting top-secret operations throughout Calvard in accordance with a contract they hold with the Presidential Office. It was during one of these operations that she reunited with Rean, her fellow disciple and the Divine Blade of Ash, thus leading them to cross swords once more in a new land...

Appearance

She is a silver-haired woman with pale blue eyes in her early twenties wielding an ebon odachi decorated with red and silver designs. She wears a combat suit that appears to be a mix of traditional Eastern styles and cutting edge technology. It features a long-sleeved white jacket over a sleeveless eastern style top and black leggings which openings at the thigh. A floral petal symbol is emblazoned on her top. When off-duty, she trades her uniform for a cropped blue bomber jacket layered over a sleeveless turtleneck, exposing her midriff. A contrasting blue tie rests against her chest. Her look is anchored by asymmetrical, slightly distressed white pants—the left leg completely missing to reveal bare skin—and grounded by solid black shoes.

Personality

Shizuna is extremely whimsical and acts according to whatever fulfills her interests. She will not back down from a challenge, but at the same time is open and friendly when someone manages to garner her attention. Despite her appearance, it was noted that her eyes suggested a contrasting darker side. She initially seems playful and interested in her opponents, but also uses derogatory and mocking language to drive unwanted visitors away from Ikaruga’s domain.

Shizuna can act very carefree and laid‑back and will sometimes neglect her duties and act on her own whims. At times she lacks common sense and knowledge of different cultures, such as drawing attention from others because her outfit is not common where she is from, or going into the men’s bath without knowing mixed‑gender baths are not common in the area, leaving her confused as to why Van and Aaron were stunned and shocked by her presence.

Shizuna has a habit of speaking aloud what people are thinking through the Unclouded Eye and can act a bit nosy at times when she does.
