Portos is an inhabitant of the town of Ruan.
He lives in the house in the southern section of town together with his wife and son. Portos has the not so unimportant job of running the town's harbor and making sure it's running well. This isn't always an easy job, his work getting complicated by the Raven Gang having made one of his warehouses into their headquarters. Portos filed a complaint against them with Mayor Dalmore, but received no reaction from him. This lack of interest could be extended to his harbor as well, since Ruan's importance as a harbor town is slowly phased out ever since airliners were introduced and the town's slowly been turning into a city focussing on tourism. While the process has been going on for quite some time, Mayor Dalmore himself seemed a big supporter of the vision of Ruan as a tourist attraction.
After Mayor Dalmore was arrested, Portos was one of the two people pegged as a suitable candidate for taking over the mayoral duties. Considered a reliable and popular man by those who know him, Portos has many supporters among the dock workers, sailors and fishermen who are all hoping that "one of them" being elected would slow or even reverse the trend of the harbor being phased out. While Portos hasn't refused the call, he hasn't put himself forth yet either, due to him not being a very self-confident person.
During the search of Estelle, Joshua and Kloe for Mayor Dalmore's stolen candelabrum, the bracers pinned the object's location down to a barrel inside one of the warehouses and dock worker Harg even went out of his way to retrieve the barrel without directly violating the rules. Just when the barrel was brought out, Portos appeared from the warehouse asking what was going on and explaining his presence by stating he used a spare key to get inside the warehouse himself. After he wandered off, a second Portos suddenly appeared and the bracers realized that the actual thief had been impersonating the harbormaster. While Estelle heads off to chase the mysterious "Phantom Thief B", Portos gives Harg a scolding.
Relations
Portos is the husband of Noria and the father of Logic.
As the town's harbormaster, he's also the boss of Benoit, Kuper and Harg.
