Chief Watch Officer Zelste is a soldier serving in the Royal Army.
He's stationed at Krone Pass checkpoint separating the cities Bose and Ruan and can be found inside the checkpoint's bunk area. Krone Pass being in the middle of a mountain range, it's not unusual for Zelste and his men to be forced to go out and rescue hikers who get in trouble at the pass.
When Estelle and Joshua arrive at Krone Pass after the arrest of the Capua Sky Bandits and the rescue of the hostages, it's already getting late and they decide to spend the night at the checkpoint. Upon noticing their bracer emblems, Zelste immediately gives the go-ahead for their stay.
Later that night, the checkpoint is attacked by a pack of wolf-like monsters. While Estelle and Joshua quickly prepare to join the fray, Agate tells them the soldiers at the checkpoint are well-trained and that additional people would just get in the way. Zelste, while fighting off one of the creatures, is quick to agree with Agate although the bracers still get their chance to help out when a second pack attacks the checkpoint from the other side.
After all the monsters are beaten, Zelste thanks Agate, Estelle and Joshua for their assistence and arranges some monetary compensation to await them at the Ruan branch.

Chief Watch Officer Zelst is the superior of Private Cutinger, Private Egel and Private Mikey, Private Usher and Watch Officer Serose.
