Background

The Old Schoolhouse is the original building where the academy was first established since centuries ago. An old fortress from the Middle Ages, the building was repurposed into a schoolhouse, serving until the new campus was built in S.1182. Since then, the Old Schoolhouse has been all but abandoned, only used occasionally as hiding place for students.

Background

During the White Shadow case in Ruan, Estelle traced the shadows' origins to Jenis Royal Academy. After investigating there, a white shadow appeared and led them to the Old Schoolhouse. When they arrived (after Estelle recovered from the fainting it caused), they found clues in the schoolhouse that led to a room with a statue of an old dragon. Similar to the one at Thors Military Academy in Erebonia, under the statue there was a secret passage leading to the underground ruins of the fortress the Old Schoolhouse was founded on.

At the deepest point of the ruins Bleublanc, also known as Phantom Thief B and Enforcer No. X of Ouroboros, was waiting for them. There he showed Estelle and the rest the result of his experiments with the Gospel: the augmentation of a hologram projector that made it able to project animated holograms over large distances. But when the bracers attempt to arrest him, he sets loose the Storm Bringer, the guardian archaism of the old fortress. After they defeat it, Bleublanc easily immobilizes them, but Dorothy's unexpected intervention releases them, after which the Enforcer decides to take the Gospel and teleport away.

During the country-wide Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon, Jenis Royal Academy is taken over by Gilbert Stein and a detachment of Ouroboros enhanced jaegers. While Joshua was scouting ahead, he unlocks the gate to the Old Schoolhouse, which allows his team to infiltrate the academy grounds from behind while the other team distracted the jaegers from the front.

After liberating the hostages, Gilbert takes hostage a girl from the fencing club, which he believes to be Crown Princess Klaudia von Auslese, and retreats inside the Old Schoolhouse. Sieg attacks Gilbert while he realizes his mistake, which gives an opening for the bracers to neutralize him. However, Campanella appears and clarifies that the takeover was not part of Ouroboros' plans, punishes Gilbert accordingly and takes him back to the Glorious.

Background

After defeating all the dark knights in the The Monochrome Schoolhouse, the back gate leading to the old schoolhouse opens. On the back road, Kevin and Kloe are confronted by the Raven Gang leaders, aware that they're copies and unable to go against their purpose of fighting them, but retaining their personality. Once defeated, they warn them of the guardian coming up ahead before vanishing.

Inside the old schoolhouse, Phillip Runall greets them. Introducing himself as the First Guardian, he apologizes before challenging Kevin and Kloe to battle. After defeating him, he wishes them the best against the other guardians before vanishing, activating the amberl monument in the Erbe Scenic Route.
