The Ymir Valley is a valley in the mountains of the Eisengard Range, north of Ymir.
Background
At the deep end of the valley remain remnants of Animism in form of a small monument. It is at this location that Rean Schwarzer was found at the age of 5 alone by Teo Schwarzer.
4 years later, Rean and his step-sister Elise Schwarzer wandered near the monument. When Rean touched the monument, a monster appeared and injured him, but when it threatened Elise, he was overcome by a mysterious power and went berserk, killing the monster with a small hatchet.

Background
After defeating the Imperial Liberation Front, Rean returns to the valley with Class VII after being challenged by Bleublanc to stop a blizzard surrounding Ymir. Arriving at the monument once again, Rean tells his story to the rest of the class when another monster appears from the monument and freezes them in place. Rean is able to use an early version of Spirit Unification to free everyone from the ice and defeat the monster, stopping the blizzard as well as revealing the Phantom Thief's presence.

Background
Rean returns to the monument with Elise, Celine Millstein and bracer Toval Randonneur to defeat the Magic Knight that followed him from the Eisengard Range. He's able to destroy it despite its regenerative abilities thanks to Valimar's power, but on returning to Ymir, they find that the town has been attacked by a squad of Northern Jaegers in their absence.
Following the kidnapping of Elise and Princess Alfin, they head out to the valley where Valimar is able to use the Spirit Path to find the other members of Class VII and travel to their approximate location.
After the exploration of the four Spirit Shrines and the liberation of Trista, the Glacia Shrine suddenly appears in the valley. Despite containing no Zemurian Ore, it is guarded by the so-far strongest Magic Knight.
