엘사 레그니츠

Elsa Regnitz (エルサ・レーグニッツ) was the cousin of Machias Regnitz.

Appearance

Elsa was a young woman with wavy medium length hair. From the little known about her from flashbacks, she appeared to wear a long-sleeved blouse with a ribbon tie and corset and a long pleated skirt.

Personality

Elsa was like a sister to Machias, and like a daughter to Carl Regnitz. She was also said to have countless admirers but remained level-headed and sensible.

Background

Elsa was very close to her cousin Machias. At the time, Elsa had been dating Arthur, Carl's subordinate, and the two started a relationship, which Arthur's family did not approve of. As a result, she faced harassment and death threats from Arthur's family, and the relationship soon fell apart. Overwhelmed by grief, she committed suicide.

The affair enraged both Machias and his father. Carl's anger at Elsa's death spurned him into taking political action and joining the reformist faction. Machias and his father still visit her grave and lay flowers. They made a promise to her never to give up no matter how bad things got.
