The Great One's defeat results in Ishmelga's soul, now taken physical form, trying to flee to a pocket dimension. The Tuatha De Danann (トゥアハ・デ・ダナーン), also known as the Empyreal Fortress (幻想機動要塞), is a flying fortress built by the Gnomes.
Background
The Tuatha De Danann was created by the Kin of Earth as their mana-powered superweapon during their final war with the Kin of Fire. However, after the clash between Ark Rouge and Lost Zem over what is now Osgiliath Basin, it was lost in the space-time disruption resulting from the creation of the Great One.
Since Ishmelga took control of the Gnomes, they have been renovating it in preparation for the Rivalries of the Seven, to serve as the stage for the final Rivalry.
On 30 August, S.1206, two days before the beginning of Operation Jormungandr, Black Alberich summoned the Empyreal Fortress back to the space above Osgiliath Basin. At the same time, five pillars similar to the Salt Pales appeared in various places over Erebonia. With Cedric Reise Arnor proclaiming the Empyreal Fortress to be Erebonia's superweapon in the war against Calvard, the Salt Pales siphoned the hatred of people to empower the Fortress, surrounding it with an impenetrable barrier.
The Radiant Wings then prepared Operation Shining Steel in order to infiltrate the Tuatha De Danann, finish the Rivalries, and defeat Ishmelga before the war swallowed the continent. With 5 teams dispatched to each Salt Pale, the barrier was disabled long enough for the Courageous II, Valimar and Ordine to slip past the Glorious and the Aions and make it into the Fortress.
Once inside, Class VII old and new faced several roadblocks throughout their incursion into the fortress. They included, in order:
- Lechter Arundel and Claire Rieveldt
- Cedric Reise Arnor and Shirley Orlando, with the Fourth Rivalry taking place with Cedric piloting Testa-Rossa
- Mariabell Crois and Campanella
- Black Alberich and Rufus Albarea, with the Fifth Rivalry taking place with Rufus piloting El-Prado
- McBurn in his true, otherworldly demonic overlord form
- Giliath Osborne, with the Final Rivalry taking place with Osborne piloting Ishmelga

After failing to convince Rean, Ishmelga transforms into the Ebon Sword of the End Osborne used to attack him, but Rean easily cuts the sword in two, destroying Ishmelga for good.
With the Rivalries finished, Rean's curse is lifted while Crow and Millium begin fading. Valimar summons the rest of the Divine Knights, sans Ishmelga, and Franz and Roselia invoke the Sacrament programs of the Sept-Terrions of Fire and Earth to perform one last miracle and truly resurrect Crow and Millium. Franz begins fading as well, stating that as he has been an Immortal since Black Alberich took over, his resurrection is impossible. He and the Divine Knights give Class VII and the others one final goodbye before leaving for good.

Trivia
- Tuatha Dé Danann are a supernatural race in Irish mythology. The Gnomes feature several other references to Irish myth, such as Lugh (as Franz Lughman, Black Alberich's alter ego); Balor, leader of Fomorians, enemies of the Tuatha Dé Danann (as Zoa Balor, Alberich's combat shell); Airgetlam, an alias for Nuada; and Claimh Solais, one of their treasures in the form of a sword of light.
