Leviathan (「最終魔煌機兵」リヴァイアサン ), dubbed the 'final Zauber Soldat' is a colossal humanoid Zauber Soldat weapon developed by the Black Workshop.
Background
The Leviathan unit was intended to be the final Zauber Soldat model, combining technology from Panzer Soldats and Magic Knights through the expertise of the Black Workshop under Black Alberich and empowered through the the Erebonian Curse. Its specifications far exceed the otehr models and Alberich created it as his final concept of the Zauber Soldat. Its appearance is much more bestial than the other models, featuring hinged legs, a tail and claws- giving is a dragon-like profile. Its heavy weaponry and arms make it the counterpart to the Goliath unit, but the resemblance is the least of of al the other pairs. It replaced the Asmodyne unit (which does resemble the Goliath more) during the development stage. Other key differences include its ability to fly and the fact that it does not require a pilot- running on fully automated technology and AI.
On board the research Gargantua used to protect the Draco Shrine, Alberich is joined by G. Schmidt who wishes to see the final results of his first disciple Franz Reinford. he unveils the model to face Class VII but they defeat it with assistance from Sharon Kreuger and George Nome. Despite its advanced technology and power, the tendency it has to go berserk and lose control results in Schmidt giving it a 'failing grade'. Further Leviathan units are deployed in the Orchis Tower's Thaumaturgical Sector, where the Vander Family arrive to help, before one is destroyed by McBurn who doesn't want his fun interrupted. A copy of the Leviathan is recreated from the memories of the Empire in one of the fake Salt Pales.
