Raquel (ラクウェル), also known as the Entertainment City (歓楽都市), is a city in Lamare Province, Erebonia.
Background
Historically, Raquel has played an important role as hub of the Lamare Province.
It is the nexus where railroads and highways from the provincial capital, Ordis, in the west and Jurai, Aragon and North Ambria in the north converge toward Erebonia's centre. Raquel Station is connected to the Transcontinental Railroad, the Lamare Main Line as well as the norhern Ober and Dnieper Branch Line.
This positioning led to the formation of an entertainment district. Theatres, casinos, gambling dens and high class clubs define the cityscape of Raquel. With the very nature of entertainment at its core, Raquel's public order is incredibly low and acts of violence are an everyday occurrence.
During the October War, Raquel resident Ash Carbide led a gang named Fafnir to protect the town from thieves, gaining notoriety with the Bracer Guild.
In S.1192, Miguel, then a traveling merchant, found a young boy who had survived the Hamel Tragedy wandering near Parm by himself. He took the boy on a train to Raquel, fleeing the soldiers looking for him. After the government found him and bribed him into silence to cover up the incident, he gave the boy to Ellen, a hostess who adopted him and named him Ash. Ellen died 8 years later of cancer, leaving Ash to fend for himself.

Background
Class VII visits Raquel in order to find information about the jaeger corps operating in the area during the leadup to the Imperial Provincial Council in Ordis. An informant called Miguel sends them to the Rock Patio, but it turns out to be a setup from Nidhoggr. Later that night, Rean Schwarzer, accompanied by Sara Valestein, Angelica Rogner and Claire Rieveldt, who interrogate him about the jaegers.
After a dead end in the Neue Blanc, formerly owned by the Red Constellation, they find Zephyr's leaders in a nearby casino. They agree to play a three way Vantage Masters match for information, but new Class VII arrives to help them turn around the games. Rutger Claussell tells them the name of Zector, confirms that Zephyr and Nidhoggr are on the side of the government while the Red Constellation and the purple jaegers they met are on the side of Ouroboros, and that the purple jaegers are the remainder of the Northern Jaegers looking to make a final stand after their defeat in the Northern War.

Locations
Maison Ecaille (メゾン・エカイユ) is a multiple-storey apartment complex. On the first floor live Rick and his wife, Merichelle. They were travellers who met each other in Raquel and decided to marry late S.1205/early S.1206. On the second floor lives Old Lady Esmi with Mina, the sister of Jutta who works in Ordis. Near the entrance of Maison Ecaille is the dog Barracuda constantly barking.
Liberty Heights (リバティーハイツ) is a multiple-story apartment complex. On the first floor lives Montell, who particularly dislikes Ash. On the second floor lives Amelia with her newborn, Jusse. Her husband Orsar works away from home. Ash Carbide also used to live here with his foster mother.

Casino - Alisha (カジノ《アリーシャ》) is a branch of the main casino in Heimdallr, Receptionist Lanks informs. Peugeot also serves as a receptionist. Customer Frederick says a couple of days earlier, he met Marjorie in the casino. Outside, Mimika and Kilka to draw customers in their bunny costumes. In Trails of Cold Steel IV you can gamble. Sanchez lets you play Poker; and Ratharo lets you play Blackjack.
Ikaros Mart (イカロス・マート) is ran by Clark. He is assisted by Yang and Clark's younger sister, Cathy, who serves as a tout outside the store. Yang says they were originally living in a rural area. Yang takes over at night when Clark's negotiations with Kleist Mall in Ordis take longer.
Pub & Dinner - Decken (パブ・食堂《デッケン》) is ran by Morley, a close friend to Ash Carbide's foster mother, assisted by Silew. A frequent customer is Brad, who's had a bad influence on Ash.
Pawn Shop - McEnroe (質屋《マッケンロー》) is ran by McEnroe, who, like most pawn shops owners, also serves as an important source of information on working of secret societies.
Bar & Inn - Hermit (バー・宿泊《ハーミット》) is ran by Julia. Her customers include Bianca; Gaspar, a traveller from Heimdallr; and Joseph, the father of Maya. Joseph was once a lieutenant colonel in the Imperial Army of Erebonia with remarkable skills, from which his daughter inherited her sniping abilities. He retired after the Hamel Tragedy, to which he appears to have some kind of connection. At night, Danny tried his luck at the casino and forgot his girlfriend Cornette whom he left somewhere in the city.

Theatre - Turandot (小劇場《トゥーランドット》) has performances only at night, Ridnour informs players.
Club - Neue Blanc (高級クラブ《ノイエ＝ブラン》) can not be entered. Guide Jolith welcomes customers from all around Erebonia, including those who drive all the way from Jurai.
Raquel Chapel (ラクウェル礼拝堂) is the seat of Bishop Eaton, who is assisted by Sister Olfa.
Other NPCs in the area: Informant Miguel, an acquaintance of Ash, and Rosa. At night, Cornette can be found looking for her boyfriend, Danny, and barker Foxe talking to tourists.
In Trails of Cold Steel IV you can meet these NPCs: Recruit Chris, Recruit Stan; Roscoe, Bella, and Artem (from North Ambria); Becklin.
