하켄 게이트

The Haken Gate (ハーケン門) is the Royal Army of Liberl's guarded checkpoint on the international border between the region Bose in Liberl and the Sutherland Province in Erebonia. The Haken Gate can be reached through the Eisen Road from the City of Bose, 210 selge north of the city.

Background

The Haken Gate is guarded by the Royal Army Border Patrol under supervision of General Morgan. The gate's barracks includes the General's office and holding cells in the basement for detainees. The other building is a bar and inn for travellers going to either Liberl or the Empire where they may reside to rest and relax in.

At the start of the Hundred Days War, the Haken Gate was easily penetrated and broken down by the Empire's blitzkrieg. Since the end of the war the gate has been fortified and left in control of one of the persons responsible for the counterattack.

After the disappearance of the Linde, Estelle, Joshua and Scherazard decide to speak with General Morgan on behalf of Mayor Maybelle for information about the missing airship. To do so they hide the fact that they are bracers due to the general's dislike of them. From the general they learn that the sky bandits have sent a demand for ransom, and Estelle slips about their identity, angering Morgan.

A heated discussion between the general and Scherazard is interrupted by the blond man they met at the bar. General Morgan decides to let the bracers off and Olivier Lenheim introduces himself to the bracers, and accompanies them to Bose.

Quests

• Missing Airliner: The bracers head to Haken Gate on behalf of the Mayor of Bose to obtain information about the airliner.
• Black Notebook: The notebook found in the bandit hideout can be given as evidence in Haken Gate.

The no man's land beyond the gate is the site of another conflict between Erebonia and Liberl as the Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon has also affected southern Erebonia. Having just warded off an assault by Ouroboros on Grancel, steam-powered Erebonian tanks make an advance on Liberl in the guise of helping to restore peace.

With Estelle as mediator, Princess Klaudia leads a negotiation with Zechs Vander to avoid the invasion. Prince Olivert Reise Arnor makes a surprise appearance and agrees to hold back if they're able to prove that they can handle the issue. At that moment, Cassius Bright arrives on a Zero-Field Generator powered Arseille, to which the prince agrees to provide three days to end the shutdown and joins Estelle's team in order to do so.
