Jimmy is an inhabitant of the town of Ruan.
Estelle, Joshua and Kloe first run into him on the Gull Seaside Way between Manoria Village and Ruan where he's being attacked by a group of shark gators. After the bracers defeat the monsters, they ask him what he's been doing outside of town, but Jimmy evades the question and declines their offer to escort him to town, preferring to walk there on his own.
The bracers meet him again when they respond to a request he posted at the guild that was asking about help in locating a treasure marked on a map he possesses. The map, apparently, belonged to a pirate called Schirmer. It turns out that he was searching the area in an attempt to find the treasure himself, only to get attacked, so he decided to hire a bracer to do the searching for him. The map turns out to point to a sandbar with a barrel containing another map and a pair of daggers. Jimmy is excited upon seeing that the search paid off and leaves the daggers with the bracers while heading to his friend O'Neil of the general store to get the new map deciphered.
Jimmy is an easy-going guy who's quick to get carried away and jump into things. After handing him the contents of the barrel, the party suggests that Jimmy may have been taken in by his friend's tall tales.
In Trails in the Sky SC, at the end of the second chapter, Estelle and her traveling companions can perform a quest called "Missing Guest," where Martina, the innkeeper at the Zalbahd Hotel in Zeiss, reports that their guest, Jimmy, went in search of treasure in the Limestone Caverns in the Kaldia Tunnel, He is found in front of a treasure chest that he pulled up from the lake, screaming excitedly at the top of his lungs, thinking he made the discovery of the century and has finally found Schirmer's treasure via a long trail of many old maps. He opens the chest, which is actually a trap that sets an alarm off, drawing forth a group of penguins including an enormous Divine Penguin which emerges from the lake to attack.
The group must protect Jimmy from being knocked out by the penguins, at which point, Estelle examines the chest for any more traps and finds the Silver Dew Orb inside along with a letter saying, "In memory of my seventieth birthday -- and my retirement from piracy -- here lies my Silver Dew Orb. This gem holds the power to warn its bearer of all approaching danger. I can say my living to this day is thanks to none other than this jewel. However, I have grown old and weary of being bothered by the 'knights' who come seeking it. And so, I sink it into this lake. You who have found it, do as you please. However, as I wrote, this treasure comes with its own troubles..." and signed by none other than Schirmer.
Estelle promises to show Jimmy the orb once they return safely to Zeiss. They find themselves back at the Zeiss bracer guild, where Kilika chastizes Jimmy for acting so hastily, saying he would be monster food now if he had opened the chest earlier. Jimmy, genuinely frightened, says that he will focus on getting a job so that he can pay for an escort for the "next time," claiming that, "Treasure hunting's a man's romance," and a little danger is unavoidable for discoveries like this. Estelle hands over the Silver Dew Orb to him as they all wonder what it might be. Olivier says that from the looks of it, it appears to be an artifact whose power has long since left it, and saying that it may well still be dangerous and that it should be investigated through the proper channels. Kilika suggests the History Museum in Grancel, offering to contact them on Jimmy's behalf. He agrees, and Kilika prepares a ticket for him to the capital, assuming correctly that Jimmy is entirely broke. He rewards them with a Heal quartz for saving his butt so many times.
For some reason, Jimmy doesn't seem overly fond of Jenis' Academy's school uniforms.
