Unlimited Blade Crafts (果てなき剣) is a Daydream in 영웅전설 시작의 궤적. Its events take place prior to the main story.
Background
The Daydream can be accessed from the True Reverie Corridor.
Synopsis
The day after the imperial wedding on the Solstice festival, a martial arts tourney is held in the Heimdallr racecourse in response to the question 'Who is the strongest?' that was raised at the wedding. The format was decided on as teams of two, with the participants with less experience being allowed to form a group of four to even the odds. The format for the tourney was brackets. The teams were:
- Arios MacLaine and Victor S. Arseid
- Aurelia Le Guin and Aurier Vander
- Olaf Craig and Wallace Bardias
- Cassius Bright and Zechs Vander
- Patrick T. Hyarms, Ferris Florald, Vincent Florald and Celestin
- Rean Schwarzer, Duvalie and two other selected party members.
Rean's group faces off against Wallace and Craig first of all and defeats them, whilst Patrick's group loses to Cassius and Zechs. Aurier and Aurelia then step to face Rean's group, whilst Cassius' team faces Arios'. Rean's group and Arios' are victorious. before the finals can commence, Olivert Reise Arnor, who is tired of sitting on the sidelines and remembers his time in the Liberl Grand Arena, joins in, accompanied by his sister Alfin Reise Arnor, Toval Randonneur and Roselia Millstein who was tricked into taking part in order to get hold of imperial sweets by Vita Clotilde.
Rean's group are victorious against the formidable arts users and move onto the finals against Arios and Victor. Before the fight, Rean talks with Duvalie and he comes to the understanding that he can continue to use Spirit Unification, as the power that developed alongside the Ogre power of the Erebonian Curse is still there, even if the curse has now gone. They win against Arios and Victor and therefore claim the tourney.
Later, Rean and company say their farewells to Duvalie. She is committed to leading the Stahlritter in accordance with the legacy of her lord, Arianrhod and therefore will remain aligned with Ouroboros. She expresses a desire to meet the Grandmaster in person and also discover the fate of McBurn. She hopes they will fight alongside one another again in the future.
