Watch Officer Kientz is a soldier serving in the Royal Army.
He's stationed at Air-Letten checkpoint separating the cities Ruan and Zeiss and can usually be found in the checkpoint's entry hall.
Unlike his more composed superior, Kientz is the more unrestrained of the two officers on duty at the checkpoint and he's famous around the Air-Letten garrison for his temper. When Duke Dunan pays a visit to the checkpoint, Kientz is one of the soldiers who has to deal with him and keep the other visitors out of the mess hall and he's quite vocal in his frustration of the duke, even going as far as to suggest to Estelle that if diplomacy fails, there's always the use of force. If Estelle ends up threatening to assault the duke, he's one of the soldiers restraining her, though he expresses awe of her afterwards. If Estelle tricks the duke into leaving, he expresses amusement at the way she handled the situation and either way he's really grateful to her. Later on he mentions he'd be open to more cooperation between the army and the guild.
After the attack on the Central Factory, Air-Letten is closed in order to prevent the kidnappers from leaving the Zeiss region, but shortly after, the higher ups decide to reopen them despite the fact the assailants haven't been apprehended yet. Kientz vehemently disagrees with that decision and is in an extremely bad mood because of it.
