Synopsis

Jingo opens up the Neinvalli branch in Heimdallr's Ost District. Josette Capua comes to visit and Jingo considers the need for an airship of her own, and asks to buy the Bobcat II. Josette states she isn't selling as the Capua Delivery Service decided against larger airships in favour of a fleet of smaller ones. Jingo's attempts to convince Josette, including the announcement of the Cerberus Dispatch Service are unsuccessful. Later, Jingo wonders how she can get a ship. Cerberus leaves and comes back with a mysterious golden stone which he gives to Jingo.

Meanwhile, Wilhelm Ballad, who has taken over as deputy supervisor of the Lamare Province, sits in Juno Naval Fortress reading a letter from his niece, Musse Egret. His only company is his butler as all military forces have vacated the fortress due to the restructuring of the Imperial Army of Erebonia. In his boredom, Marquis Ballad had invited a fortune teller, Beryl who told him to avoid extravagant purchases or else face misfortune. Despite this, Ballad decides to splurge on a personal airship despite the caution from his butler, whom he orders to buy an airship 'no matter what.'

Jingo is visited by Beryl who notices the happiness stone and wonders if it is the same type of the one that appeared in Liberl (The Happiness Stone). Beryl offers an exchange, a creepy Mishy doll that she assures Jingo isn't cursed (but she can get one if Jingo would like).

At Juno Fortress, Ballad is inundated with paperwork, but leaps up at the chance to see his new airship when his butler arrives with the news of its delivery. Ballad asks where the airship is after being taken to it, not believing that the one in front of it could be his. Although state of the art and fitted with the latest technology, Ballad was expecting something much more extravagant and is disappointed.

Jingo's next visitor is Shirley Orlando. The two recognise each otehr from their dealings in Crossbell City and bond over their red hair and opinion that the Thors Branch Campus students need to wind down more. Shirley had been visiting Leeves to collect her left-behind clothing. She notices the weird Mishy and offers to trade it for a 'magic mine' devised by Mariabell Crois, which Jingo accepts.

Ballad suffers the inconvenience of an imperial inspection when Machias Regnitz arrives to overlook his purchase history, something brought on by his recent purchase of the airship causing cause for concern due to the Duke's prior misuse of public funds. Machias finds records of lavish deserts, books on how to bond with family members and treatments on hair loss but otherwise no illegal activity and Machias apologizes for the trouble and leaves. Ballad curses the ship for bringing the Inquiry in the first place. Thoughts go back to the fortune telling of misfortune.

Jingo is visited by Leonidas and Xeno who are looking for ammunition. They are travelling around the continent rebuilding Zephyr and remark that it is regrettable that a certain individual (Aida) joined 'The Shield'. They ask if Jingo has anything new and she shows them the magic mine, which detonates on proximity to spiritual energy rather than physical force. Xeno is intrigued by the prospect of a new device like this and wants to dissect it, he offers a rare golden statue of retro Mishy that he got from a job with Hartmann years ago. They then discuss Fie Claussell being in the capital and the pair wanting to see how she is doing covertly.

Ballad is called to a provincial council and decides to use the airship he purchased for the first time. He is eager to be off, not wanting the pre-flight checks to be done first and opens the door only to be startled by a flock of birds that had taken roost inside. He curses the ship again. On their route, which takes them through the Languedoc Canyon, the ship has an unexpected control failure and begins to descend rapidly. Tita Russell comes to their aid in the Orbal Gear IV and deposits them safely on the rocks. Ballad exclaims that the ship has brought him nothing but trouble and states that he wants rid of it as soon as possible.

Jingo visits Crossbell and the Neinvalli branch where her mother Ashleigh works to deposit the Mishy statue as it doesn't match her usual stock. Tio Plato rushes in after hearing the news about it, having ditched work because 'nothing is more important than Mishy.' she exclaims that she loves all kind of Mishys and must have it. Jingo feels it is only right to give it to her for free, but Tio insists on giving her something for it, resulting in jingo being given the very same airship Ballad wanted rid of. Ballad had it given to the Epstein Foundation for disposal but Tio thought it a waste of a good ship.

Later, Jingo has repainted the ship in the Neinvalli colors and christened it 'Argo'. She ponders how the small stone led to her fortune and obtaining of a new ship. She remarks that it is the start of the Neinvalli Special Service.

Trivia

• The ship being saved correlates with the 에피소드 "신 오벌 기어 개발 계획 전편" which suggests the Emperor was the one responsible for bringing the ship down as a ploy to get the artifact at the core of Tita's Orbal gear.
