Ernest is an inhabitant of the town of Ruan.
He's the receptionist of Hotel Blanche and while Norman is the owner of the hotel, it's Ernest who's handling the hotel's everyday affairs. When Estelle and Joshua first arrive in Ruan, they're in need of a place to stay and check out the Blanche at Kloe's urging. Ernest tells them that they're in luck, since the reservation for the hotel's penthouse was cancelled earlier, so he was okay with giving the suite to the two bracers and only charge them the standard rate.
Some things are too good to last though and while Estelle and Joshua were checking out room's balcony, Dunan von Auslese stopped by the hotel and promptly confiscated the room despite it no longer being vacant. At first, Estelle shows no intention of handing over the room, but Dunan's butler Phillip eventually manages to convince her and Joshua. They head downstairs and ask Ernest for a normal room, only for Ernest to admit he has no vacant rooms left. He promises to make some other arrangements for them only for Nial to walk in and offers to share his room with Estelle and Joshua instead. Relieved, Ernest agrees. As a way to make up for the inconvenience, he gives Estelle a free drink if she talks to him again right afterwards.
