안개 협곡

The Nebel Valley (霧降(きりふり)り峡谷(きょうこく)) is a series of mountains and valleys northeast of the Bose region.

Background

The area consists a geographical setting with many inclines and bridges, but relatively simple paths. There are two separate pathways to choose from upon entry to the valley: the west side of the valley, which leads to a dead end due to the presence of strong monsters, and the east side, which leads to ruins build in the mountains and the hut of Whelmer, a hermit living by himself in the valley. The valley is covered in a dense fog, making orientation difficult and airship flight dangerous.

The ruins found in the east mountains, used in S.1202 as the hideout of the Capua family, date back to the Dark Ages. It was used as a fortress and shelter during the turmoil that followed the Great Collapse. Estelle, Joshua, Scherazard and Olivier infiltrate the hideout by hiding aboard the Bobcat and proceed to liberate the hostages the bandits took from the Linde. After defeating the three Capua brothers, the Royal Army of Liberl assaults the area and arrests them as they were trying to make their escape.

Background

The Royal Army has repurposed the hideout as a training facility for pilots, which Dorothy Hyatt was sent to report on. Meanwhile, Mueller Vander was sent to collect the seized Bobcat and return it to Erebonia.

Joshua, who has freed the sky bandits and allied with them temporarily, infiltrates the hideout to steal the Bobcat. Dorothy is able to take a picture of them as they fly away, which she shows to Estelle after returning to Grancel.

Afterwards, Georg Weissmann and Leonhardt visit the ancient resting place of Ragnard within the valley and use a Gospel to enslave the holy beast. The awakening disturbs the resting place of several other ancient creatures which flee from their subterranean lairs and roam the Bose region, causing disturbances until the bracers can put an end to them.

Following the failure of the capture operation, Ragnard returns to the valley to rest. Due to the thick fog an aerial incursion is not viable, making the path that only Whemler knows deeper into the valley the only way for Estelle and her group to reach Ragnard. Though Whemler refuses at first, revealing the nature of Ragnard, Agate formally requests his help and is able to convince him.
