Lane is an inhabitant of the town of Zeiss.
He's a worker who's usually found outside the weapon shop sorting through boxes for Elkan, the shop's clerk. Elkan apparantly has the habit of leaving things a mess outside, which annoys Lane to no end, but he doesn't have the nerve to confront Elkan about it or tattle to Elkan's boss Stain.
Lane is rather unique in the sense that unlike many of his fellow citizens, who only drop by the church when they need medicine, he frequently visits the church to pray, especially after the attack on Central Factory leaves him unnerved.
