Latanya is an inhabitant of the town of Grancel.
She's usually found walking the main avenue in the southern section of the royal city.
Like many citizens of Grancel, she isn't fond of the idea of the duke standing in for the Queen and hopes the latter will recover from her "illness" soon. She IS extremely fond of Colonel Richard though, unaware of the fact that he's pulling the duke's strings.
Latanya has been a huge fan of Colonel Richard ever since he arrested the sky bandits, though she was impressed with him before that time, having seen him fight in previous martial arts competition and having been awed by the swordmanship style he displayed back then. Even after the news of the coup comes out, she continues believing that the colonel was simply a victim of circumstance. (which happens to be partially true)
While she adores Colonel Richard, she's not fond at all of Captain Amalthea, being put off by the captain's haughty demeanor.
Prior to the competition, she briefly ran into Zin and, like most people who first lay eyes on him, was awed by how large he was.
Latanya's insistence that she DOES know what the word "inconceivable" means is a reference to The Princess Bride.
