Orvid is a slightly eccentric merchant dealing in rare food ingredients.
He's the representative (and sole employee) of Orvid Co. Ltd. and he tries to make a living travelling across Liberl in search of rare and exotic ingredients for use in exclusive meals. Orvid seems convinced that rare equals valuable as far as food is concerned, but this doesn't always work out for him.

He's first met hanging around the airport of Rolent, hoping to get his hands on a rare mushroom before his flight departs, and hires Estelle and Joshua to retrieve one for him from the nearby Malga trail. The mushroom, the Firefly Fungus, turns out to contain a high concentration of septium, causing it to attract monsters, something Orvid was aware of yet refrained from mentioning to Estelle and Joshua. Estelle chews him out over it later, though Orvid brushes her off by mentioning that as a bracer, she should be able to deal with unexpected situations.
Orvid is met again during Estelle's and Joshua's stay in Ruan when his niece Amelia puts in an request with the guild for a bracer to escort him to the Krone Pass. When Estelle and Joshua talk to Amelia in Manoria Village though, it turns out that Orvid already left for the Krone Pass on his own. Deciding to go after him, Estelle, Joshua and Kloe catch up with him just in time to save him from pursuing monsters. Orvid initially gets into another argument with Estelle, but voices his appreciation for their intervention anyway and after being taken back to Manoria, he and Estelle part on better terms.

Orvid is briefly seen on the airship Linde, travelling to Ruan at the same time Estelle is after her return from Le Locle. Estelle recognizes him as he's busy mentally preparing for his activities in the region, but due to her less-than-ideal interaction with him in the past, she doesn't strike up a conversation with him.
Orvid used to live in Manoria together with Amelia and Zack, although he moved out years ago. Zack apparantly doesn't get along with him, courtesy of his uncle being very stubborn and set in his ways, and Amelia thinks that that's why he doesn't drop by very often.

Orvid is present in this game as well, and gives Class VII a request to find ambergris.
