Murray is an inhabitant of the town of Ruan.
He's employed at Hotel Blanche as the maintenance man for the boats that are rented out to visitors.
When Clem overhears Gilbert's accusation of the Ravens burning down the Mercia Orphanage, he storms off to confront them. Estelle, Joshua and Kloe are unable to catch up with him before the Langland Bridge opens, cutting them off from the warehouse district. Desperate to make it to the other side, the bracers and Kloe hurry to the dock behind the hotel and ask Murray to let them use his boat.
Murray refuses at first, telling them that Duke Dunan already rented it, but after Kloe pleads with him, he relents, telling her that she reminds him of his granddaughter and that he doesn't like to see her upset either and that he'll just tell the duke that the boat's getting repaired. After Estelle, Joshua and Kloe subdue the Ravens and rescue Clem, Joshua returns the boat to Murray.
Murray mentions that he enjoys spending time at the dock staring at the water, making his current job particularly suitable for him.
