Erick, a NPC met in Zeiss

Erick is an inhabitant of the town of Zeiss.

He works as the operator of the Central Factory's service window that's located in the factory's main hall. While "service window" is what his desk is officially called, it's actually part of the company's orbment division and it's fully equipped just like the orbal factories in the other town. Erick's more than a simple clerk though. He's actually a factory researcher, though still a junior who hasn't finished his studies orbment service and maintenance yet, hence the reason he's still doing simple service desk work right now. He's hoping that he'll be skilled and experienced enough to have his own research laboratory one day.

While very knowledgable about orbal technology, Erick has also adopted a trait that's not uncommon among orbal researchers: he's started taking his knowledge for granted and when faced with a layman asking him for advice on what heating orbment to buy, he merely gives him the company's catalog and reasons that trying to inform his customer about how orbments work would merely result in more incomprehension.

After the black orbment causes a town-wide blackout, however, Erick's service window suddenly gets a massive influx of people complaining about their orbments not functioning well and he realizes that laymen are more common than he thought at first and that even Zeiss has many people who don't know much about the subject.

Unlike his colleague, Miss Hazel, Erick's still relatively junior and isn't kept in the loop about the rescue attempt of Professor Russell orchestrated by the Bracer Guild and the Central Factory's senior staff, so when the Leibnitz is about to head to Leiston Fortress to smuggle Estelle, Joshua, Agate and Tita in there, Erick wonders why several of his colleagues suddenly rushed towards the airfield.
