St. Astraia (アストライア) is an important historical figure in Erebonia.
Background
St Astraia is best known for being the namesake of St. Astraia Girls' School in Heimdallr.
She had two moral principles on which the school is founded: Honorable Poverty (清貧であること) and Service to Others (他者への奉仕). These are based on her actions 900 years prior to the start of the story.
The story goes that when Zoro-Agruga first made the city into its necropolis, a strange disease afflicted its residents. Astraia treated people who needed medical aid and became known as a miracle worker. It was thanks to her accomplishments that Emperor Astrius II was able to relocate his people to Saint-Arkh. The words she left became the pillars of the school's spirit.
Astraia is said to have owned a mysterious ring, an Artifact called the Ring of Relief (救済の指輪) that allowed to to heal anyone just from holding their hands. This ring remained in Astraia where it was eventually used by one of the Seventy-Seven Devils to complete itself using the souls of young girls who put the ring on and fell into a coma. This devil is vanquished and the ring sent to the Gralsritter.
