Antonio is an inhabitant of the town of Ruan.
He's a young man living in the northern section of town together with his parents. His father Renzo is a sailor and Antonio would like to do similar work, although instead of working on a seafaring vessel, he'd like to be part of an airship crew (this has been his dream ever since childhood). His mother has other plans though, wanting him to follow in their neighbor Gerome's footsteps and enter Jenis Royal Academy. Antonio feels more than a little pressured by her.
Wanting to at least give the whole thing a look-in, he decides to drop by the academy during the school festival and he admits liking the atmosphere of the place, being drawn to natural sciences in particular, which should still allow him to take a job on an airship eventually.
