Martin is an upperclass man from the city of Grancel.
He lives in a home in the northern block of the royal city together with his wife Marian and his daughter Helena.
Martin's defining trait is not his considerable wealth, which allows his wife to go on vacations and spend big bucks on exclusive dining and shopping whenever she wishes, but his state of mind during events such as the martial arts competition and the birthday celebration. Martin is obsessed with large public events and his already over energetic mind becomes downright manic during the days of those events and during the time Estelle and Joshua are in Grancel to see Queen Alicia, Martin is in the middle of his martial arts competition high, much to his family's exasperation. According to Marian, her husband's been this way for as long as she's known him and the passing of years hasn't blunted this trait so far.
During the martial arts competition, Martin is high-strung 24/7, obsessively trying to micromanage the day's activities, repeatedly reminding his daughter and wife about said activities, dragging his family along, repeatedly holding roll calls just because he enjoys them and essentially bouncing around the house. Whenever his family doesn't go along with his antics, he starts sulking until they start feeling guilty and let him have his way anyway.
While his wife mostly takes his mania in stride and begrudgedly admits his energeticness is actually the trait she likes most about him, his daughter is extremely annoyed by him and eventually fiddles with his alarm clock in an attempt to keep him in bed for a little while longer and let the three of them have a little bit more rest, causing him to oversleep, much to his dismay. The day has another unpleasant surprise in store for him when the team he was rooting for, the special ops team, loses to Estelle's and Joshua's team in the finals. The loss upsets him so much that his family takes him to a restaurant to fill him up with food in order to prevent him from having a mental breakdown.
While the family gets a brief moment of rest after the martial arts competition, the upcoming birthday celebration and especially its threatened cancellation due to the Queen's "illness" are the only thing on Martin's mind, causing him to just sit at home all day and sigh, causing his daughter to suggest he's probably on the verge of cracking. The Intelligence Division's coup gets thwarted though, so the celebration is held as usual and Martin and his family are seen in front of their home getting ready to join the festivities with him holding yet another role call.
