Specialist Taris is a soldier serving in the Royal Army.
He's part of the Royal Army's 3rd regiment and he's participating in the Martial Arts Competition in Grancel together with his commanding officer and two fellow soldiers from the same division (the competition used to be restricted to members of the army and more an evaluation of soldiers' skills than a public event).
He and his team make it through the preliminaries and are introduced in the waiting room where the participants of the blue side wait for their turn to do battle. After seeing the battle between Zin's team and the Raven Gang, Taris mentions this may be the first time civilians who aren't bracers are participating. Taris also shows extreme eagerness to go out there and throw down.
