Carlos, a NPC met at Haken Gate

Carlos is a man met at the Haken Gate checkpoint.

He's a traveller who is waiting for clearance to cross the border into Erebonia, something which has gotten more difficult due to garrison at the gate having been placed on high alert.

Carlos' decision to visit the empire was pretty much made on a whim, which is actually how he lives his entire life. He likes life to remain unpredictable and as a result he usually makes life decision on the spur of the moment. While waiting to get permission to leave the country, he ends up spending all his money on eating and drinking at the Haken Gate rest stop before his request to cross the border can even get processed.

In order to replenish his funds, he made the decision then and there to join the border garrison just in time to accompany the rest of the soldiers on the raid on the Sky Bandit's Hideout. He can later be found guarding the Liberl side of the gate.
