Thors' Open House (第II分校修学祭 ) is a Daydream in 영웅전설 시작의 궤적. Its events take place prior to the main story.

Synopsis

At an unknown area, Ash Carbide eliminates a monster just as Toval Randonneur arrives. Toval thanks Ash for coming along despite the small request, but Ash states that he was on his way to visit his mother's grave as he has some free time. Ash's subconsciousness begins mocking him over the decisions he made and his refusal to join Zephyr. Ash states that he had unfinished business and knows that as long as he feels guilt over this, he cannot be with "them", concluding that he will leave the branch campus by the end of the month.

Two days later, the students of the branch campus are assembled at the yard where Aurelia Le Guin tells them they'll be hosting their first festival in a manner unique to them, seeing that the main campus has done so since its inception. In Class VII's homeroom, Rean Schwarzer summarizes what the students have to do. Before he leaves, he tells Ash that he has to help the executive committee, much to his surprise. Ash only learns from Musse Egret of how he ended up in the position, much to his annoyance.

In the Literature Club, Tatiana asks Ash what they could do, but Ash is too troubled by his intentions. She ends up yelling at him to snap him out, stating that she is willing to help him even if her advice is bad. Ash is touched and claims that he was distracted by being part of the committee and they begin brainstorming how to to showcase the club. After making preparations, he meets up with Leonora and Stark to finalize everything.

On the day of the festival, the public and military is invited to the campus to watch the classes and clubs. In the history class, the noble ladies fawn over Rean and Kurt Vander. In the music class, a trio of young noble men become surprised when Aurelia is teaching the class, and she forces them to remain when she senses their intentions. In the Soldat class, a trio of soldiers on leave are initially disappointed that they aren't seeing Aurelia in action, but are left impressed by the students' ability with the massive machines.

After the classes are over, the students return to their clubs to continue the festival. Ash is left to check everything is in place, as he himself wants to put things right before he leaves. On the way, he finds a ballot box and believes that the people are voting for the best club in the campus.

At the Tennis club, Ash catches two young men with malicious intentions towards the girls and confronts them. The men believe they can easily do whatever they want, but Ash reminds them they're in a military campus, making them strong and that they also have connections, forcing the two to back off. He then heads to the train platform and finds the Modern Music Club there with a large crowd. He is worried about the amount of people when Leonora finds him and the two help guide the crowd out. Ash then heads to the cafeteria to check on the Cooking Club, where he finds Freddy running late. When Freddy serves his food to the guest, the man remarks the splendid taste. Freddy explains how he achieved it, but the man is not put off by the style of cooking. Ash decides to give him a pass. He also checks on the swimming pool to see how the club members are faring there. The next stop is the shop where Ash finds Becky and Hugo, who reminisce about the main academy's festival and their sales. He then goes to the Chess Club, where he finds Fritz Geithner and Ada Grant playing against Kurt and Sidney respectively. Kurt and Ada are impressed by their opponents' growth, remarking that the outcome would have been different back then. He then heads to the Tea Ceremony Club, where he spots Maya's father lurking outside. Inside, Maya senses her father, while Musse tells Ash that everyone that came wanted to take photos with Kairi, since Rex had also come to visit.

After the first run, Ash decides to take a break and finds his classmates all relaxing at the same spot. They admit that Rean has shaped them well and that they wouldn't be the same if someone was missing. Ash still remains tense due to his intentions, which Kurt takes notice of.

In the second set of patrols, Ash continues checking on the clubs, along with Randy Orlando and Michael Irving. Randy reveals that he is returning to Crossbell soon and states that he and Ash are similar - they both have a past they want to cover up and act as if everything is fine. Randy tells Ash that while it is true, they now have a home and friends to rely on. Michael also reveals that he is leaving at the end of the year as he has been ordered to return to the RMP, which has been dangerously understaffed after the war ended. They allowed him to remain with the campus as the school year is ending soon. Michael admits that his view on the students was mistaken at first, as they have all become capable in their own way, including Ash himself.

Ash then checks on Towa Herschel in the storage room. Towa is upset she couldn't help Ash and the others out. Ash reminds her that the festival is about the students themselves, which reminds Towa of her time in the academy. Towa tells Ash that Rean worked with the student council, prompting him to ask if he was a part of it. Towa tells him that Rean was never a member, but he always completed everything she gave him, and despite all the work, found it to be fun.

As he finishes his patrols, Ash runs into Rean, who is curious to see how his students are doing. Rean tells him that he'll always keep looking out for him even he doesn't want it. Ash then casts his vote for the best club before the students return to the yard once more, where Aurelia tells them that the festival was a success. She also states that the main event is to select the campus' first student council president, much to Ash's surprise. Mint then states that the executive committee was a way to determine who would be eligible - Ash, Leonora or Stark. Ash furiously asks Rean why he hid this from him, before Rean asks Musse if she explained everything to Ash. Musse states that she didn't, because she was aware Ash would intentionally shirk his duties if he knew the truth.

Ash believes that his fellow classmates are better, but Altina Orion states that she has no interest. Musse is too busy managing Lamare, while Kurt admits that he is behind the others and Musse explains that Juna Crawford works best at the heat of the moment, while Juna also admits that she isn't good with management and paperwork. Therefore, they decided to pick Ash. Ash ends up winning the nomination and his subconscious begins mocking him for it.

As the others attend the after-party, Ash has Rean meet him at the rooftop. Rean is aware that Ash intends to drop out, as he knows when something is bothering him. Rean suspects that Ash is still guilty over shooting Eugent. Ash admits that he hasn't forgiven himself for it, just as his classmates and Tatiana arrive. Everyone is aware that something was wrong with Ash. Despite his personality, everyone in the campus has come to see him as a friend. Aurelia arrives soon after, stating that she was lucky she didn't lose any of her students in the few days of war, and that she will not tolerate a student dropping out. However, she offers him a fast-track graduation exemption if he can prove himself in the following year. With nowhere to go, Ash takes up Aurelia's offer, intending to finish his business at the campus and leave Aurelia impressed by using the students.

Before Aurelia leaves, she reminds him as President of the Student Council, he can nominate officer candidates of his choice to assist in his duties. Tatiana offers to do the finances, which Altina supports as she already does it for the entire campus. Musse tries to leave, but because of her deception, Ash ropes her to work with him. Ash's subconsciousness then mocks him for not being able to escape once more, but Ash states that he will no longer run away and will confront everything head-on regardless of what happens, and that the subconsciousness will watch everything he does. It accepts the offer and waits to see the future Ash has planned for himself.

Two days after this, Ash has nominated his assistances to Aurelia, who has approved of it; Musse as his vice-principal, Tatiana for finances, Stark as his secretary and Leonora as the Club Supervisor.
