Tran is an inhabitant of the town of Grancel.
He's an old man usually found walking the main avenue in the southern section of the royal city.
In order to remain in good health, he likes to take long walks every day and he usually walks along the Erbe Scenic Route to the royal villa and back. Much to his chagrin, the Erbe Royal Villa becomes off-limits to civilians after the Intelligence Division establishes their headquarters there, forcing him to remain within in the borders of the city.
Tran holds both Colonel Richard and Queen Alicia in very high regard. The supposed illness of the Queen and the lack of news updates on her condition are enough to prevent him from enjoying the martial arts competition. He's also shocked when Richard turns out to be the instigator of the coup, wondering if the colonel's seemingly genuine concern for the country was an act all along.
