Reisen is the village elder of Ravennue Village.
Around the time Estelle, Joshua and Scherazard arrive in Bose, a vicious monster called a Fate Spinner appears in the area north of the village and, worrying about the possibility of villagers getting attacked, Reisen has someone guard the town's northern exit while putting in an extermination request with the Bracer Guild. Eventually, Estelle and her companions respond to the request and have a talk with the elder, who briefs them on the situation. They receive his permission to access the northern trail and manage to defeat the monster. Relieved, Reisen mentions that it'll now be safe for his people to plant their new saplings and tells the bracers they'll always be welcome in the village.
Estelle, Joshua and Schera later revisit Ravennue in an attempt to get some leads on the missing airliner. Reisen mentions that the Royal Army already searched the area and found nothing, but he points them towards the boy who said he saw something strange flying over the village the other night nevertheless. After investigating the entrance to the abandoned mine and detecting a draft from somewhere inside, the three bracers return to the village and ask to borrow the key, which they receive.
At that time, Reisen was at the village's cemetary, paying his respect to the casualties of the war 10 years ago. Being located in the region closest to the empire, Ravennue was hit hard during the Erebonian invasion and memories of that time still run deep with the older people in the village. Paying respect to the casualties of the war and cleaning the gravestone is apparantly a daily ritual for Reisen and his wife.
In addition to the issues of the monster near the village and the army's investigation, Reisen also has to deal with a conflict between farmers over cultivation methods. He eventually agrees to hold a reconciliation meeting between the technologically-oriented Pesca and the experienced, but old-fashioned Gray in an attempt to get them to settle their differences. Unfortunately, the meeting isn't a success.

Elder Reisen is the husband of Birnette. He's also an acquaintance of Agate Crosner.
