Synopsis

This Daydream's events are continued from Project Orbal Gear IV Pt. 1

Tita Russell reports the results of the field test for the Orbal Gear IV to G. Schmidt who chastises her for not realizing the 'gravity engine' was in fact an Artifact. He speculates that the incident unfolded in such a way that it might have been planned.

In the conference room, Erika Russell finalizes the clean-up from the Black Workshop and their investigation. George Nome, Renne, Estelle and Joshua Bright, Alisa Reinford and Agate Crosner are all present. The conversation turns to F. Novartis and the Thirteen Factories, as well as the advancing desertification of the East, increasing movements of Jaeger corps on the continent and other international causes for concern. With the importance of technology to these matters, Erika proposes the creation of the West Zemuria Technology Federation, a unity of various technological establishments intended to counter the Thirteen Factories. Erika goads Schmidt into joining so she can have the names of the three disciples of C. Epstein. Alisa pledges the Reinford Group's support, and George and Renne also join in. They still need to gather the Epstein Foundation and Verne Company's collaboration to make it a true force, however. Agate tries to catch Erika about the test tomorrow, but Erika dismisses him.

Tita meets up with Juna Crawford, Musse Egret and Altina Orion who have assembled to help her pass the test in the Einhel Keep. Alfin Reise Arnor also arrives to lend her support. Erika states the test is to reach the end of level XX, a feat she says is much more difficult than Schmidt's iterations, describing them as an easy time compared to hers.

As they pass through the keep they encounter their first obstacles, in Estelle, Renne and Kurt Vander who have all been roped into helping Erika. Estelle challenges the group, whilst being surprised at how Renne managed to bring a tea set with her. Kurt was persuaded to help in order to preserve his 'knightly honor' to help Tita do her best, as Erika puts it. Renne wants to see if the machine originally designed to face Pater-Mater is worthy. Nevertheless, they are defeated. The next group to stand in their way is Ash Carbide, Joshua and Rean Schwarzer. They are surprised to see Rean but they also push through.

The final test is Agate and an Archaism reverse engineered by Erika who is in remote control of it. They are about to fight before Erika suddenly stops. They hear her perform her 'Success Dance v.3' which they doubt the efficacy of. As part of the warmup, she swings at Agate "but not as if she was doing on purpose or anything" despite Agate being fully aware this is the case and dodging. Even though the pair are really unfriendly with one another, they fight well in sync due to their shared bond with Tita. Tita's group wins and she thanks her friends for all their support, for even though she passed the test, she has no results to show Erika. Musse tries to challenge this due to knowing it was Wilhelm Ballad that Tita saved, but Tita admits she knew the unit could never be mass-produced and resolves herself to going back to Liberl.

Erika stops Tita and says that as a Russell, she would not leave things as they are. Erika says she may stay at Thors Branch Campus until she graduates, and has read the report about yesterday's events. Tita is surprised as she had written no such report, but it turns out Agate had written one, and a very detailed one describing the results. Erika does say it was not very well written, though. Tita embraces Agate and thanks him, whilst Agate picks up a chill in the air. Erika strides over to him with murder in her eyes and muttering for his death.
